This is a tricky topic, but an important one overall. It's the first thing most people notice. It represents who you are, and how you decide to express yourself. It gives people an idea about you. Clothes are probably the biggest part of style. Another is personality, hobbies, friends, and so on.

Clothes are one of the first things people will notice about you. They can intrigue someone, scare someone off, or just flat out make people ignore you. Now, I could go on with the always inspirational 'Be bold and experiment with your look' rant, but I'm going to be honest. That's one of my biggest fears. I'm just going to try explaining this, so bare with me here.

Your style is your own thing. But with the pesky little thing about insecurity, it's scary to be different. We all know that. We shouldn't, but we do. That's where the friend part comes in. Now my opinion, it's easier to express yourself when your around people like you. So please, if one of your so called 'friends' is tearing you down instead of building you up...

Stop being friends with them.

They aren't worth it if they can't see you for the beautiful person you are. Find people that you have something in common with, no matter what it is, there's someone out there with the same interests. You were put on this earth for a reason, make that reason count for something. Even if it's just making someone's day better, it'll come back to you.

You are a good person, I know it. Even if you can't see it, I know you do. And here's where another, she doesn't know me, how does she know? moments come in. I know because you are. You can express yourself by dying your hair purple or brown, you can wear anything from sunglasses to steampunk goggles. Go ahead and wear it.

Even if you think it's a fashion disaster, you never have to wear it again if you don't want to. And you can always dye your hair again. What I'm saying is that do something different, not that it has to be extravagant. It can be something as simple as parting your hair on the other side or wearing those socks with those shoes. Like everything else, start out small, unless you want to do something big. Then have at it.

I will warn you though, not everyone will like your style. It's no big deal, if they don't like you, just ignore them. If they don't like you, don't waste your time on trying to get them to. Your time should be spent on the people who are worth it.

So go ahead, blare your favorite song in your favorite clothes doing your favorite dance moves with your favorite people. After all, it's your life and your style. Nobody else's, yours. Do whatever the hell you want.

Stay beautiful and stay true to yourself.
