Everyone has an addiction.
What's the root of it?
Confliction,
perhaps,
thoughts that are fiction,
or wanting to fit in,
unwilling to listen?
Smoking,
gambling,
drugs,
cutting,
loving,
pain,
sports.
We're all addicted in some sorts.
Get rid of one
and you'll find another.
You say you won't?
What a bluffer.
You're just going to suffer.
Addiction,
we all need to get our fix in.
There's a certain pulchritude to it,
even though it sounds like bullshit.
We're so alone
that our addiction makes us feel at home.
It's something that keeps us grounded,
as we find ourselves astounded
by something that means nothing,
yet means everything.
Think I'm making this up?
Find your addiction
and go without it
and you'll feel the sting
that being alone will bring.
We all have an addiction.
What's the root of it?
