A small chuckle and the bright flash of a camera ended the loving embrace. Standing there, arms crossed and camera in hand, was Claire, smiling like a five year old child who had just received a big bag of sugary treats for her birthday.

'Come on, you heard her. Time is of the essence and you aren't exactly getting any younger, sir.' Putting his hand on his chest, he raised his eyebrows in disbelieving amusement. Daniel got out of the snowflake-imprinted duvet and got ready to start the day.

Hand-in-hand, Daniel and Claire walked down the cobblestone pathway, snacking on two fruity tutti ice lollies as they watched their daughter run across the park's luscious green grass with her new friend, Colby. 'She truly is a miracle,' stated Claire out of the blue with a small huff and euphoria fogging over her eyes. Daniel squeezed his wife in agreement, placing his head on her bare shoulder.

After a moment, Sarah and Colby came running to the two sitting on the bench, faces red and flushed. 'Mommy, Daddy, Colby and I found this really cool place by the bushes to play hide-and-seek. Can we go there?' Worry washed over Claire's face but subsided slightly. 'Sure honey, just don't wander off.'

They were gone in a flash.
