A hole in the sky ripped open, and the Bifrost came shooting out of it. Snow flurried up when the Bifrost hit, as Thor and his band touched down. Runes from the Bifrost are imprinted on the ice around them.
Freya looked around nervously. "This place, it doesn't feel right," she whispered to Loki. "And Heimdall was right, I'm not dressed warmly enough."
"It's going to be okay," Loki whispered back. "I'll keep you safe."
"We shouldn't be here," Hogun said nervously.
Thor grinned. "Too late now!"
"Actually brother, it's not. We could turn back now, ask Heimdall to open the Bifrost-" Loki trailed off as he saw Thor's stubborn expression. "At least let Freya go home. She's no fighter, and even if she was, her outfit is one for a Lady on a sunny afternoon on Asgard, not one for a battle on Jotunheim. Look at her, she's freezing!"
"Freya shall stay! We shall all stay!" Thor shouted. "And we will fight as true Asgardians to bring honour to my father's name."
Thor headed on. Reluctantly, the others followed.
After walking for a while, they all reached a stone castle, devoid of any signs of life. "Where are they?" Sif asked.
"Hiding. As cowards always do." Thor answered.
Thor lead the others onwards towards the central plaza. They didn't notice as shadowy figures moved in the shadows of the structures nearby.
The party reached the plaza. They sensed the Frost Giants in the shadows and crevices, surrounding them on all sides. They reached for the hilts of their weapons.
A Jotun Sentry called to them. :What is your business here, Asgardians?" The Jotun's voice itself sounds like cracking ice.
"I speak only to your King. Not to his foot soldiers." Thor answered.
"Then speak. I am Laufey, King of this Realm." Thor turned to look at the shadowy figure speaking.
"And I am-"
"We know who you are, Odinson. Why have you brought the stench of your blood into my world?"
"I demand answers." Thor said arrogantly.
Laufey stood, and sized up Thor, trying to piece this together. "You 'demand?'"
"How did your people get into Asgard?" Thor demanded.
"The house of Odin is full of traitors."
Freya gasped.
"Do not dishonor my father's name with your lies." Thor shouted.
"Your father is a murderer and a thief. He stole what was ours, and left our world in ruins. We have the right to reclaim the Casket." Laufey spat.
"Not when you'd use it to make war against other Realms."
Laufey laughed, a cold noise, mocking the Asgardians. "And why have you come here? To make peace? You long for battle. You crave it. I see you for what you are, Thor Odinson. Nothing but a boy, trying to prove himself a man."
"This boy has grown tired of your mockery." Thor took a step towards Laufey. The other Jotuns stepped in front of Thor, blocking his path.
Loki moved next to his brother and quietly implored him. "Thor, stop and think. Look around you. We are outnumbered. And remember Freya."
"Know your place, brother" Thor reprimanded.
"You should listen to his counsel. You know not what your actions would unleash." Laufey paused. "But I do. Go now, while I still allow it."
Loki spoke up. "We will accept your most gracious offer." Thor stared Laufey down a beat - then relented. He turned to leave.
His comrades followed, when a Frost Giant nearby muttered under his breath. "Run back home, little princess." Thor stopped in his tracks, knowing that the giant wasn't referring to Freya.
Loki went white. "Damn."
In one move, Thor pulls Mjolnir, swung it, and threw the Jotun clear across the plaza. The Asgardians reluctantly drew their weapons, gathering into a circle around Thor.
And an epic battle began.
Freya didn't see much of the fighting, seeing as first chance he got, Loki moved her to the side and shrouded her in mist. When they began to retreat, Loki grabbed her arm, and she was once again able to see. And what she saw was terrifying. They were on the edge of a cliff, with Fandral injured and surrounded by frost giants.
Then she heard a growl behind her, and paled even more. A giant lizard like creature was climbing up the cliff toward them. It attacked, and Thor eventually defeated it, but just before he did, Freya felt a pain in her side. A claw had gotten her.
Just when she thought all hope was lost, the Bifrost opened behind them, and Odin stepped out. He was speaking to Laufey, but Freya was too woozy to listen. An icicle grew on Laufey's arm, and he was about to strike Odin, when the Bifrost suckered them all back to Asgard.
Freya distantly noticed Odin shouting, and Thor being sucked into some kind of portal, but it all seemed blurry and far away. And then she blacked out.
