Chapter 3

Caila's POV
I woke up to the smell bacon, eggs, and french vanilla coffee. I quickly got out of bed and went to the bathroom to freshen up. A hot shower was very needed after what happened last night between us. I hope he still isn't upset with me. I really want to help out this family. After my shower, I quickly put on some yoga pants, and a varsity crew jersey. I walked into the kitchen to see Ryan shirtless while taking biscuits out of the oven. He set the biscuits on the island and smiled at me as he came closer

"Good morning baby, how'd you sleep?"

I was a bit confused with where this attitude was coming from

"Morning, it was okay I guess"
"I made breakfast today" he said while holding my waist and kissing my head.

Before I could respond he said "Caila I know your mad at me, but this surrogacy thing is new to me. I love you and I want you to carry our kid first, not some else's kid. I want to go through that experience with you knowing that the baby is ours. I know how important this is to you but I don't want you to get hurt. Cause at the end you'll have to give the baby back to his or her parents Cai. But I want you to be happy. I want to make you the happiest girl on earth and I'll do everything in my power to do so. So Caila, if you really wanna go through with this, then I'm in. You know I'm not too big on speeches but baby, I'll be with you through every step of the way."

I stood there in shock, "I.. I don't know what to say Ryan. Do you really mean it?"

"Of fucking course I do. I promise to be there with you through every step of the way. We can do this baby." he said while hugging me

"Ok Ryan" I smiled

Ryan's POV
Later that day

Seeing my girl happy makes me a better person. I cleaned up after breakfast and decided to meet up with Caila's parents later that evening since they were in town. Around 5pm I drove to their modest home in the Hamptons. And I was greeted with two warm smiles from Caila's parents.

"There's my boy!" Caila's dad shouted

"Hi Mr. Madison" I said while smiling

"Son didn't I tell you to call me dad or Tyler?" he questioned me

"Oh Tyler, leave the man alone will ya! Ryan honey, I'm so glad you made it! Come on in." said Ivory

"Ok Tyler" I chuckled while giving Ivory a hug.

Ivory went to the kitchen and came back with a platter of fruits, cookies, and brownies. "So Ryan, how have you and my princess been lately?" she asked.

"Better than ever" I responded

"That's my boy" said Tyler "So what brings you to our house?"

I laughed nervously "Well... ahh... I don't know how to put this but...." I hesitated "Caila has been an amazing partner. She supported me through everything even if it meant that we would be separated for awhile. These past almost 3 years with your daughter has been the best 3 years of my life. And I can't imagine spending anymore with her."

"Oh Ryan! Are you gonna ask our princess to marry her?!" Ivory exclaimed
"Ah.. if only I can have your blessing Tyler?"

"Son, marriage is a serious thing. It's not something you do just for the fun or publicity of it. It's a life long commitment. And life long commitments need patience. I know you love Caila, but can you take care of her? And support a family of your own?" he said with a serious expression on

"I promise that I'll take care of her and supply all her needs and wants. And I'll be there for her through thick and thin Tyler. You can have my word. I promise that I won't let anybody or anything harm Caila. I love her so much and I don't want to ever let her go. Please Tyler?" I begged

"Ok son, if you mean everything that you just said... then you have my blessing."

I jumped up immediately and hugged Tyler "Thank you Dad!"

And Ivory ran up to me and said "I can't believe that I'm going to have the best son-in-law ever"

"Thank you so much dad and mom, I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with her!"

"Well then what are you waiting for? Go get her tiger!" said Tyler while waving as I went to my car

"And drive safe!" Ivory said while beaming

I still can't believe that Tyler gave me his blessing. Caila means the world to me and I finally get to make her mine. When I finally got back to the city it was already past 10. The five hours of driving today was worth it. I walked into our condo and found Caila fast asleep with a almost empty carton of Ben and Jerry's mint chocolate chip ice cream. I put the rest of it back in the freezer, turned of the tv, and carried Caila back to our room. I carefully put her on the bed and changed into comfortable clothes. I climbed on the bed and kissed my princess goodnight. Then I smiled to myself and went to sleep.
