Blondie- Chapter Seventeen

"Hey, Kyle? Can I come over?"

"Uhh, sure." He said. I knew he was confused.

"Ok, be there in a minute." I said before hanging up. I knew that I need to talk to him about all this. I needed answers to the questions swirling in my head.

I pulled up to his driveway and turned off the car. The last time I was here, we waxed off his eyebrows. They grew back surprisingly fast and I suspect he did something to them. Anyway, I locked the car and went up to the front door.

I didn't even knock and the door had all ready swung open. Kyle was standing there in sweatpants and a hoodie.

"Hey." He said. He didn't make any motion to move out of the way so I could come it.

"As much as I'd like to chat, it's kind of cold out here." I said frankly. He quickly moved out of the way so I could enter. His house looked better with the lights on but I wasn't about to say that out loud. He walked into the kitchen and I followed behind him. I took a seat on the counter.

"So." He said before I cut him off.

"Yes, I know all about Kyler." I said, getting to the point. "I know how he forced you to make fun of me and how it was all so he could get my dad's company." Kyle scratched his head and looked up at me. He looked away before speaking.

"I have to admit something." He said. When I didn't reply, he went on. "Kyler didn't tell me what to say, I said that all on my own."

I felt like I had just been punched in the stomach. I came here thinking that Kyler was the bad guy and he had forced Kyle to say those mean things about me.

"Kyler had spread rumors about you but it was my job to make you feel bad about yourself." He finished.

I felt the hard pull of anger inside of me. I jumped off the counter and looked him right in the eyes. Comments were swirling around in my head and I wonder which one's to speak out loud.

"Why?" I said looking coldly up at him. "Why would you do that to me?" I said. "What had I ever done to deserve this?" I asked. I could see the anger fill his eyes as well.

"What haven't you done?" He shouted. "You try and act all perfect and smart but you're not. Everyone can see that you're not!"

"I don't try and act perfect." I said. I was already over whatever had come over me. I took my keys out of my pocket and was about to leave when Kyle decided to speak again.

"I knew it." He said. I swished around.

"Knew what?" I asked not so nicely.

"You're leaving." He snapped. "You're so dumb." He said.

I open my mouth to say something back.

"Don't even talk to me, you dumb blonde." He snarled. "I knew that you and Kyler switched out my tests so you would have a better grade than me." He said. "Gosh Viven, I should have known how selfish you were, you know considering you're just like all the other dumb airhead blondes who care about no one but themselves."

"We did that to prove a point." I said loudly. He laughed a very bitter laugh.

"Yeah, to prove how stupid you really are." He said. I turned to leave because I knew my words could never hurt him like his had me. I was trying to show him what we meant by that little prank.

"Kyle, you really don't understand this." I cried out before I open the door to leave. "You'd find that it was pot calling the kettle black."
