DANNI'S POV.

I couldn't sleep all night last night. You ask me why? Well, tomorrow my family and the Hemmings family are having a barbeque tomorrow!

Well, it's supposed to be a welcome back home for Luke coming back from the Take Me Home tour.

Luke Hemmings from 5 Seconds of Summer is my best friend. We've been childhood best friends because of my mom and his mom.

My mom and Luke's mom, Liz, are single parents and they've known each other since they were in high school. That's a long time! (A/N I THINK LIZ IS A SINGLE PARENT BUT HONESTLY IM TOO LAZY TO CHECK SO LETS ALL PRETEND SHES A SINGLE PARENT OK).

Basically, Luke and I are best friends. Literally since birth. Well, Luke's older than me by a year.

Well, you can actually say that I fell in love with my best friend. I know, it may sound very corny and cliche.

I figured out I fell in love with Luke when I was 13.

********FLASHBACK. DANNI IS 13 AS LUKE IS 14 ********

Waiting for Luke after school is so boring. Since Luke is older than me by a year, I get out ten minutes before he does.

I've been waiting for Luke out here for about 25 minutes now. You're asking why I'm waiting for Luke? Well, my mom asks Liz to take Luke home since the Hemmings live about a block away from our house.

I decided to check on Luke's classroom but as I was walking in the hallway, I see Luke hugging a girl from his classroom.

Luke told me about her, how he had feelings for her. I don't know why but when I see them hugging for the first time I feel like bitch slapping Lily. Yup, her names Lily. As they pulled away from the hug Luke kissed Lily's cheek and turned around. As he turned around he saw my face. As Luke saw my face, he turned pale. Luke checked his watch and his eyes widened.

I held my tears back and started running home. Luke ran after me but had the same running pace as me so he didn't really catch up to me. I was halfway home and luckily, I didn't cry while running home but unfortunately, I tripped and fell on my ankle.

I whimpered in pain and Luke ran faster to me.

"Danni, I'm so sorry. I forgot to meet up with you and lost track of time!" Luke apologizes to me. Luke thinks I'm mad because of that? NO YOU IDIOT. I like you. Wait what? No. I'm not supposed to be saying that. Luke is only my best friend? Is he only a best friend?

"Whatever Luke" I said to make him believe that I'm actually mad at him for losing track of time but I'm really just sad because he's with Lily.

I wrap my hand on my ankle but whimper because it hurts so much.

"You know what? I'll make it up to you" Luke says as he's bending down.

"What are you doing?" I question Luke.

"Get on my back"

"What?!"

"Get on my back. I'm making it up to you"
