Jade's POV
The past few weeks had been going great with Paul. We had began to hang out more and more. I could tell that Jacob was very upset with me because I was starting to talk more and more with Paul and my old friends, including my new ones like Jared. I was also starting to have problems with Adrian it had become apparent that he had thought that he and I would soon start a relationship, which was false.
It was hard to think about how I had found my "soulmate" at only 16. I thought i'd least get to college or even travel before I found the person i'm suppose to spend the rest of my life with. I'll admit it was hard to be out doing things with Paul because of his reputation. People always felt the need to make it clear to me that Paul only wanted one thing from me.
Jacob mentioned it the most, he hated the fact that i was hanging out with paul. But who has he to judge he spent all his time with the pale face, Bella. I mean who lets a boy break their heart so bad that she became catatonic. He feels that the two are dating but they're not, and i won't let it happen. Not unless she's his imprint only then will it be fine.
That's another topic of discussion. Sam and the pack are aware of the changes happening in my psychotic brother. He should be shifting any time now, i just hope Bella doesn't get in his way when he does. I may not like the pale face but i wouldn't wish that on her.
"Penny for you thoughts little black" I turned to my left to see a shirtless Paul holding a penny out to me with a smirk.
I gently take it out of his hands, and turn back to the ocean. "I'm worried"
"about?"
"Jacob. He could shift any day now"
"Jacobs a big boy Jade he'll be fine"
"I know but i still worry"
Paul sits next to me taking my hand in his.
"Don't worry he's gonna be part of the pack. The boys are gonna help him through it"
I turned to look into his big brown eyes before giving him a smile.
"Well I should be getting home. Walk me wolf boy" i said standing up giving him a smirk.
"Wow is that all i am to you just a wolf boy" he said walking towards me as i continue to take steps back.
"You know this reminds me of certain situation" Paul says coming closer and closer as i continue walking backwards.
"Oh yeah and what situation is that wolf boy?"
"The situation where a wolf stalks its prey" he lunged towards and picks me throwing me over his shoulder hollering in laughter.
"Paul put me down"
"why would I do that little black"
"Because I said so"
"Sorry not a good enough reason"
I huffed out a sigh as Paul carried me back to my house. When we finally arrived he slowly put me on the ground but i was still wrapped in his arms. "Thank you" he says as he looks down into my eyes.
"For what?" I question
"For giving this a chance. I know I didn't do it in the best way but i'm glad you're giving it a chance"
"Of course what else was I gonna do" I said giving him a cheeky smile.
"can i kiss you"
"hell no" before i could say anything Jacob came rushing out of the barn. Paul let go of me but slightly pushed me behind him so he could face Jacob.
"Hey jacob nice to finally see you out"
"Give me a break Paul I know what you're doing and i'm not gonna let that happen"
"Jacob I don't know what you're talking about. Why don't you just go back inside I think you have someone waiting on you"
Bella was standing in the doorway of the barn looking awkward like she always does, standing with her hands in her sweatshirt pocket looking anywhere but at us.
"why don't you leave Paul you don't live here" I gently grabbed paul's shoulder making him look at me
"It's okay. I'll talk to you later" Paul gave me a stern look basically saying he wasn't going to leave me until Jacob got his anger under control.
"Paul he's my brother he's not going to hurt me everything will be fine" I had finally convinced Paul to leave
He slowly started to walk away still making eye contact with Jacob before disappearing into the woods of La Push.
I finally turned to jacob to see he was slowly calming down from his outburst.
"why do you have to do that"
"Jade i'm doing this for your own good. I'll never understand why you got yourself involved with him. he doesn't like you you know that right."
"Shut up Jacob you know nothing"
"You know i'm right yet you continue to lie to yourself"
"I'm lying to myself look at you. Everything you do is for her, but guess what if he ever comes back she's going to leave you high and dry and you know why because she doesn't love you and she never will"
"shut your mouth"
I ran inside my house going straight to my bedroom. Ignoring the shouts of my father. A gentle knock could be heard in the house. My father gently pushed my door open and wheeled his way over to my bed where I had been sitting.
"What's wrong darling"
"Why can't he just shift dad. He doesn't understand and I can't tell him anything until he does"
"These things need to happen on there own darling, the way it's meant to be. I know it's hard with him being in the dark, but i can feel it he will shift soon enough. Then our family shall be whole again"
"Do you really think that's true dad, even with the pale face"
"Jade" he said in tone almost telling me it wasn't right of me to call her that.
"I'm sorry dad but i have no respect for that girl not after all that's happened"
"Jade you never know he could possibly imprint on her"
"I really hope he doesn't that girl only thinks of herself and you know it's true"
"Darling it wouldn't matter if your brother imprints on her she will become part of the pack and apart of our family"
"Dad I really don't think that will happen she loves the leech to much"
