2nd Grade
The first day of second grade was a disaster for Alice. Names got called, brand new crayons were taken, and no friends.. Just like last year. Alice sat down by herself at a table in the back, and ate her peanut butter and jelly sandwich. "Are you okay?" A boy with brown eyes and chocolate colored hair asked me. "I'm fine." Alice said, making no eye contact with the boy. They stayed quiet for a few awkward moments. Then, London Jackson, the bully of the school, walked up to where Alice was sitting. "Watcha eating?" She gave a disgusted look. "A sandwich." Alice looked her in the eye. "Ew." She slapped it out of Alice's hands and walked away.
"Are you okay?" The boy asked. Alice shook her head no. The boy sat in the chair next to her and put his lunchbox on the table. He opened it up and broke off half of his grilled cheese. He handed it to the sad girl. "Thank you." She smiled. "My name is Alice." She said, taking a bite out of her sandwich. "I'm Shawn."
