Alice Mirabella:
"...And do your homewo-" The bell rang. We all ignored the teacher and left our last boring ass class of the week. I went to my locker and grabbed my bag. "What's up smartass?" Bryce Duvall slammed my locker shut and smirked. I'm known to be the smart one that doesn't have many friends. "What do you want?" I crossed my arms. "Maybe you can tutor me tonight." He winks.

I felt myself being pushed away from him as I looked to see what was going on. Shawn was threatening Bryce. "You better back the fuck off before I hurt you." Shawn got in his face. Shawn has been my best friend since second grade and always protects me. Shawn has always been popular for his good looks, but I see him as a guy with a guitar.

Bryce didn't say anything but give him a dirty look and walked away. Shawn put his arm around my waist as we walked out of the school. We got in his car as I sighed. "Look, I'm going to end Bryce's little game. I've had enough of him bullying my best friend." Shawn said stared at the road.

Shawn drove us to my house and dropped me off. "Have a nice night." Shawn smiled. I smiled back and shut the passenger door. "Sophia I'm home!" I yelled. Sophia is my younger sister, she's 13. "Alice!!" She said as she came downstairs. "Where's mom and dad?" I asked. "Work.." She sighed.

"Well, do you want to go out for dinner? Just the two of us." I smiled at her. She agreed and we got in my car. As we were driving to a Chinese restaurant, my mom called.

M: Hi Alice.
A: Mom..
M: Honey, we are going out of town for a business trip for about 2 we-
A: Ok mom, thanks for "looking out" for us.
I hung up and sighed.

"What was that about?" Sophia looked at me with confusion. "Another business trip." We just stared at the road as I drove.

After we ate dinner, I got Sophia some ice cream. Sophia isn't the kind of sister I fight with all of the time about wearing my clothes and using my stuff. She may do that, but I don't fight it because we only have each other and my parents never come home from work.

"Alice?" I heard her say quietly as I looked up from my phone. "When do you think mom and dad will actually spend time with us?" She looked at her ice cream. "One day, I hope."

When we got back to the house, Sophia went in her room and I went in mine. I face timed Shawn for hours that night and morning. "Hey babe, watcha doin?" He asked. His nickname for me is babe. "Nothing much, my parents are going out of town for 2 weeks." I sighed.

"Aww. That sucks. You and your sister can always come over here and stay." He smiled. "Maybe, I could spend more time with my best friend." Shawn smiled at my response. "Think about it." He said.

Shawn Mendes:
As me and Alice talked to each other all night, I got this thought in my head that I liked her. I've had these thoughts a lot. Over the years, I have grown to like her. But now, it's different. With all of the bully's and her parents always working.. She feels lonely. I want her to have someone to cuddle at night and to kiss someone when she needs it.

"So, do you want to come over tomorrow?" I asked. "Better than sitting in my empty house." She chuckled. "Ok." I smiled. I checked the time, 4:38 A.M. "I'm gonna get some sleep, see you soon babe." I said and hung up.

Around 11:00, my sister Aaliyah woke me up. "Alice and Sophia are coming." She shook me. I flipped over to the side she was shaking me on. "Ok." Is all I got out before I fell back asleep. Soon, someone was in bed next to me. I turned around and saw Alice looking at me with her big blue eyes.

"Hey." She smiled. I smiled back. After that perfect little moment was over, she started jumping on the bed. "Get up lazy ass." She laughed. She was wearing some leggings and my hoodie, which looked better on her than me. I pulled her down so she was sitting next to me. "I'm up, I'm up." I laughed.

"What are we gonna do today?" She looked at me with excitement. "Let's watch Netflix." I said. "But I want to go somewhere." She whined, she does this when she's hyper. "Did you drink coffee?" I asked. She nodded. "Well, we're still watching Netflix." I smirked and chuckled. She groaned as she crawled under the covers with me.

She snuggled up against me as we watched dumb movies together. I know not a lot of best friends do this kind of stuff, but we are so close that this position doesn't bother me at all. It's perfect.
