Riley was the first one awake, and grimaced at the sunlight pouring through the cabin windows. She rolled over to escape the unforgiving rays and ended up bumping into a sleeping Scarlett.
The blonde (who was not a morning person) swatted her and grumbled something into her pillow. Riley rubbed her smarting arm, wide awake at that point. "Good morning to you too," she retorted sarcastically. When Scarlett didn't reply, Riley swung her legs over the edge of the bed they shared and pushed off onto her feet.
The hardwood floors were freezing, and Riley scanned the room for her discarded socks. She remembered how Scarlett complained endlessly about the smell of feet, even though there was no smell whatsoever. She was overdramatic, in Riley's opinion.
Once she'd found her balled up socks underneath the bed, she went in search of her jeans. Unlike any of the guys, the girls had packed pajamas in preparation for the night spent in the cabin. When she had all of her clothing articles hanging off of her arm, she went into the bathroom and started some water. She smelled like cigarette smoke from the past night's party, and the smell made her gag.
Only a few moments later, Scarlett was shuffling around the room. Nature was calling, and the only other bathroom was in the room the guys were sharing. She pounded on the door. "Hurry up, Riley. You've been in there forever!"
Riley's snort was audible. "Don't exaggerate; I just got in here."
"Well, I have to pee now." Scarlett's cheeks warmed when Riley laughed on the other side of the door. "Y-You're not even in the shower are you?" she placed her hands on her hips.
"Well, I'm about to get in, so wait it out sister." Riley snickered, stepping into the bathtub and tugging the curtains shut. She heard Scarlett's sudden vocalization of anger and smirked.
Ha.
Finley was just awakening when Scarlett threw the door open and stomped past. The door slammed into the wall, and the resulting bang scared Charlie into consciousness. He shot up in bed with wide eyes, which landed on the fuming Scarlett.
"Uh..." he began, but when Scarlett flashed her middle finger, he shut his mouth.
The furious blonde entered their bathroom and slammed it shut, leaving the two boys in silent confusion.
Finley immediately hunched over, holding his throbbing head delicately. "Holy..." he hissed, closing his eyes. Drinking was only good in the moment; never the morning after. It's all fun and games until you wake up with a killer hangover and an upset stomach.
Charlie, who hadn't touched a drop of alcohol at the party, stood and offered to get him a cup of water.
"Painkillers," Finley grunted out. "And Ginger Ale."
The brunette stopped and looked to his friend. "We don't have..."
"Fine. Just get water." Finley said sharply. Only when Charlie had left did he look up to thank him for his kindness. "Th--"
By the time Scarlett was finished with her business, his stomach was reminding him of his past recklessness. He stumbled past the annoyed blonde and lost the contents of his stomach in the sick.
"Gross..." said Scarlett, turning away.
Charlie returned with a large glass of water, grimacing at the smell as he entered the bathroom. While Finley rinsed his mouth and chugged the water down, he went through the medicine cabinet. There was a first aid kit inside, but he was fairly certain that it wouldn't contain any Tylenol.
