//I want to breathe you in like your vapor
I want to be the one you remember
I want to feel your love like the weather
All over me, all over me
I want to print our hands in the pavement
Savour your words, I won't ever waste them
Look in your eyes and know just what you miss//
He couldn't believe his eyes. She just left her boyfriend after about 6 months of dating.
who knew Lyds could be so brave to do something as courageous as that. This was the longest relationship he's seen her in since Parrish. They've been friends since second grade. Parrish, Scott, Isaac, Stiles, Allison and Lydia. He hasn't heard the story, but man, he's wanted a chance for so long. His hopes are being brought up, it's progress. This was something new. Maybe now, he could confess his love and adoration for Lydia. They've been so close. If only...
"What do you think Stiles?" Allison repeated for about the fifth time. Stiles snapped back to reality after realizing he'd been staring at the fire for a long time. Everyone in the group except for Parrish headed out to see a movie, and then they came back and just sat outside with a beautiful fire in between them.
"Oh, uh, yeah! yeah I mean I agree 100% yes yes yessssssss....", Stiles stammered.
Scott furrowed his eyebrows and gave a small laugh. "You weren't listening, were you."
"Um, well, yeah no not really sorry." Stiles said. He was too busy planning his future with Lydia, but at the rate he was going it was more like dreaming.
"Well, to sum everything up, we all believe that Parrish has been in the wrong.", Allison said. "Lydia, do you think you'd be able to explain the whole story again for Stiles? I don't want to tell him because I'd probably leave out key parts."
Lydia sat up a little bit and got into a different position, one that seemed more comfortable. She sighed, nodded, wiped her dried up tears, and began.
"It happened during lunch today. As usual, Parrish and I were going to meet up and head to the library. I was walking down to the cafeteria to our meeting spot, and I didn't see Parrish. I was worried, so I went and looked for him." Lydia stopped and took a deep breath. " There he was, with Malia. I turned the corner and the two of them were just-" She started crying again and Stiles went over to hold her in his arms.
" That's horrible! That wazbag thinks he can just screw you up just because it suits him? Wow. ", Stiles said. It wasn't like Parrish. Everyone's known him for a long time, and he'd never.
"Wazbag, really? That's the best insult you can come up with?" Allison asked.
"I personally like the insult. I mean you think you know a guy, amiright guys", Isaac said, trying to be a part of the conversation. After he had everyone's raised eyebrows towards him, he just cleared his throat and mumbled "sorry".
Scott shook his head and began rubbing Lydia's shoulder. "Stiles is right. He isn't like this. I don't know if we should bother with him or not. Maybe something's wrong with him." Stiles stood up and stretched.
"It's almost 12. I should go home. Do you wanna ride in my jeep Lyds? Oh I mean, not like ride in my jeep, well actually I do mean that but not like that, I meant if you wan-"
"I understand what you mean, and yeah, if that's okay with you", Lydia said. Her eyes were swollen, and she looked exhausted. She stood up and walked with Stiles to his jeep.
"Bye guys, I'll stay back with Allison for a little bit. Stay safe", urged Scott.
"And Isaac!", once again Isaac was stared at by Allison and Scott. Isaac started slurring his words not very assuredly. " I'm staying back too, um, you guys be careful and um I'll see you Monday?"
"Love you Lydia, I'll come over tomorrow okay?" Allison called as Stiles and Lydia got in their jeep. Lydia turned around, waved to everyone and rode down the road with Stiles.
"I guess it's just uss, right guys?" Isaac said with an odd grin. Allison did a really dramatic and fake yawn and said:
"Oh my gosh look at the time! I'm getting so tired." After a moment, Scott caught on.
"Me too! I guess I better take Allison home. Bye Isaac", and with that the two of them ran to the car.
"Oh alright then. camp of one? More like camp of FUN! WHOOHOOOOOOOOOO!" Isaac exclaimed. He heard a glass bottle break from a house nearby and people running towards the door near him. Isaac ran for his life indeed.
The ride was mostly quiet. all that was heard was the tree leaves swaying and brushing against each other in sync, and the engine of the jeep sounding as if it's about to explode every single time that they drive over a bump, which is frequent. It wasn't until when they got to the front of Lydia's house that a word was spoken.
"So uh, I guess I'll see you Monday. I hope you get better, I'm not really good with motivational speaking nor am I good at comforting people, if you couldn't tell, so um-"
"Stiles do you think you can stay with me for the night?" Lydia blurted.
"Yeah! Sure! I'd love to! I mean like as friends, well more than friends. Not as in that but I mean Close-" Stiles stopped himself after realizing he's embarrassing himself again.
"Yes Lydia. I'll stay with you for the night. I need to call my dad though. You know, the usual overprotective 'I'm the sheriff and I have a son' speech he gives if he doesn't know where I am."
Lydia giggled a little, and nodded. "That's okay. Thank you."
After that 5 minute talk, Stiles was ready. He's been ready for 5 years actually. It was going to happen. Maybe, if the verbalization portion goes well, or even happens for that matter.
