I wake up on the floor of Jamie's brand new carpet flooring and I don't think think I have ever had a bigger headache in my entire life.

"Hey. Sarah, are you okay? Wake up sweetheart. I need you okay for your show tomorrow night." Jamie says calmly.

"I'm okay. I just need water." Jamie turns around and someone is out the door getting my water. I try to remember why I went out in the first place, then I look at the chair in front of Jamie's desk and it all starts flooding back in.

Sitting in a comfy chair is a man that helped Chris in his every conquest. None other than Mack Carter sits in the chair looking as smug as ever.

I get the sudden urge to throw up and motion quickly for the small garbage can. "Maybe you need a few days. I will have my assistant cancel the next show. You need rest."

Jamie's assistant comes back into the room with a frosted bottle of Fiji water. I stand up slowly with the assistance of Jamie. He gently places me on the chair next to Mack and I get sick again.

I thought that all of that was behind me. Why can't I seem to get away as much as I try?

When I gain my composure enough to function on my own, Jamie walks back to his side of the desk and sits in his chair.

"Alrighty then. Sarah, this is Mack Carter. He is visiting Maine for the first time and when he saw your name on a poster, he had to check it out himself." I look at him and he smiles at me.

"Sarah, you are looking as beautiful as ever. Maybe it's that bridal glow? I heard that you are getting married soon. I would like to wish my sincerest congratulations." He says without the slightest hint of malice. Shocker.

"Thanks Mack. So, what brings you to Maine?" I ask. I secretly hope that something had happened to someone in New York or he is here to say that he is sick and he wants to apologize.

"Well, actually, there is a very solemn reason that I have come here," he pauses and looks at Jamie. "Would you excuse us for a moment? This won't take very long." Jamie nods and leaves the room. "Chris committed suicide 2 days ago. His drinking got worse when you left and he went too far this time."

I hold back the urge to start cheering and I fake my worry. "Mack, are you serious?" He nods. "When is the funeral?" I ask.

"We wanted to get your input on that so that it's on a day that you aren't too busy being a major star and all now. What day would work for you? It of course has to be within this week." I nod and pull out my phone to see what day that I could clear something.

"I don't have anything planned for Friday until late that evening. I have to be back to make dinner for my fiancé and I. It's my turn. Would that work?" I ask being genuine.

"Yeah, that's actually what we were thinking." I have a question that appears in my head and I have to ask. "Did he have any arrangements set?" I ask and Mack nods.

"Chris called the funeral home two days prior saying that he was trying to put something together to put in his will so that we knew what to do. He had everything set out. He did make a will. There will be a reading for that next Friday. We will call you to let you know where and when."

He stands up and I slowly follow suit. "Mack, it was good seeing you. Just please call next time. Don't just drop in. It caught me by surprise and there was a lot that suddenly kept flooding back." I say honestly. "Alright. I will see you Friday then Sarah. Please bring your fiancé. He is totally welcome. You are like family and he is just your plus one.

This made me almost throw up again. He isn't just a plus one you dirtbag. He was the one who saved me from that toxic mess. I think that there may be steam coming out of my ears because Mack smiles smugly again. He knew what he was saying when he said that! That bastard!

"Okay. Bye Mack. See you Friday." I practically push him out the door. Seconds later the door opens again and Jamie steps through the door.

"What was all of that about?" He asks. "Nothing. Just a stroll down memory lane."
