I could feel Paul's eyes drilling my back as I went though his closet to find clothes. I knew he didn't believe the story that Jen and I told him, heck I wouldn't believe it either. To him I was even more suspicious because I snuck in the house with his little sister at the dead of night--while I was a boy. I turned around and displayed the outfit I was wearing, Paul's ripped jeans and a black "Escape the Fate" T-Shirt.
I wasn't satisfied with it but there was only a selective few of Paul's clothes that actually fit me and this was one of them.
"What do you guys think?" I asked.
"Looks better than the gay clothes you came in with." Paul snorted, glancing at my pajamas I had folded on the bed.
"I was transformed into a boy! What don't you understand about that?!" I whisper-shouted. The last thing I need was for Jen's parents to show up also.
"Everything! That doesn't make sense and it isn't logical! It's scientifically incorrect!"
"Scientifically incorrectly? When did you get into science? You have the brain of a fetus."
Paul walked up and pulled his fist back like he was going to punch me and for a moment I saw the anger flash in his eyes and I knew he was. My hands flew to my face to act as a shield but put it down once I realized a fist hadn't collided with my face. I saw Jen in front of me and holding Paul's arms back.
"Paul! That really is Amber! I know it's hard to believe, I didn't at first either," Jen pleaded with him. Jen turned and glared at me, "Prove it Amber!"
"How am I supposed to prove it?! I don't know anything about this neanderthal."
Paul tried to jerk his arm back to hit me again but Jen blocked his hit again and glared at me, "Amber!"
My mind racked through my imaginary files of memories for something that only Paul and I would know. Memory after memory resurfaced, bringing back reminders about why I hated Paul so much. I let out a long exaggerated sigh, stepped out from behind Jen and looked Paul straight in the eye,
"On my sixth birthday, while I playing with my cousins outside you took my new Holiday Barbie, broke it in half, and ran off running with your hideous chipmuck teeth, which I might add, you had a horrible gap in the middle of teeth which was soo unattractive."
My birthday fell on December 20 so instead of treating my birthday like Christmas, my parents had a normal birthday party for me (if you ignore the blaring Christmas carols and interior decorations) and gave me normal gifts except for the Holiday Barbie I'd wanted since it was announced on the TV one week after Halloween.
I had remember Jen being there downstairs eating my cake as me and my cousin sprinted upstairs to play with my new doll. Five minutes into the wedding of Barbie and Ken, Paul burst into room, grabbed my barbie, and snapped it in half.
"Yeah, so what?" Paul said backing down a little.
"Do you not see how feminine I act?!"
"I still don't believe it, but I'll back down---momentaraily."
"Great! Because I need some boxers."

"Are you sure this is gonna work?" I asked Jen as we walked through the halls of the school. I had to admit, boy clothes were much more comfrontable, I didn't have the constant pulling down of shirts and skirts, nothing mattered. And I could wear baggy clothes--which is what I wearing now. An oversized red plaid shirt and saggy khaki cargos.
"Yes, I'm positive--remember you're my cousin--adopted cousin--and your name is Andrew Wright."
"I can't do this---I couldn't even confront my parents last night."
"What?"
"I told them I left early, they yelled at me nonstop but said I could stay over at yours. I slept at the runaway shelter thing last night."
Jen looked like she was about to protest me but immediatley plastered a grin on her face as the secretary approached us cautiously. She sat at her computer and looked at us both, "May I help you both?"
"Yes, I'm here to enroll my cousin."
"Distant cousin!!" I added, over excitedly. I wanted to make sure we weren't suspicious.
"I'm here to enroll my distant cousin," Jen corrected giving me a look to stop talking. I looked down at Paul's sneakers.
"Alright, have you called before?" the secretary asked giving us strange looks.
"Yeah, my dad called two nights before, I believe." Jen had a really good poker-face. Saturday, the day of the supposed-concert, we both had Paul call in to scedule me in the school.
"Name?" the secretary continued.
"Andrew Wright," I said interruppting Jen while deepening my voice.
Jen sighed and leaned back as the woman handed me my schedule, "Jen, I recommend you getting to class and as for you Andrew, we have specialized student staff for new students such as yourself to show you around. I'll get you one, okay?"
"'Kay."
Once she was gone, Jen turned around and glared at me, "Amber. I could get expelled for this, please don't do anything stupid."
"Jennifer--relax. I'm Amber, I make no flaws."
Jen rose an eyebrow as the door opened. I couldn't mistake those sky-blue eyes and lazy brown hair.
"Hey Andrew? I'm your tour guide, my name is Austin."
This was going to be the best day ever.
