"How can you eat that?" I said in disgust as I watched Paul rip into his pizza.
My lunch food isn't the best in the world--in fact I don't know why any health corporations haven't shut down the place yet. The pizza crust is practically cardboard and the cheese is never cooked, I ate one bite and ran to the restroom. The mashed potatoes are too runny and I'm still debating whether my soup is staring back at me or not.
"I haven't ate breakfast, I'll eat anything at the moment." Paul replied as crumbs pizza fell out his mouth.
I cringed. The only reason I tolerate Paul is because he's Jen's older brother, but he's not good at anything. He sucks at sports, he can't drive despite the fact he's eighteen, and last but not least, he's a complete slob! Girls only talk to him because of his looks. He's the male version of Jennifer with his dark hair and coal-black eyes. On top of that he has a pretty lean body despite the fact if he picked up a dumbbell, it'd send him to the emergency room.
"Even I have standards . . ." I said, pushing my lunch tray away.
"Everyone has standards, it's just some people aren't complete snobs like you."
"I'm not a snob."
"Yeah, okay," he scoffed, "You look at everyone like they're lower than you."
"No, Paul. I only look at you that way because you are lower than me." I protested.
A tray was placed next to me and Jen gave me a curious look before looking at Paul's pizza, her face twisted to one of disgust. She pushed her tray away and took a sip of water. She twisted on the cap before looking up at us, "What are you two fighting about now?"
"He called me a snob!" I pointed at him accusingly and squinted my eyes. Paul rolled his eyes.
"Oh." Jen said, picking up her water again.
"Oh? Oh! Why aren't you jumping over the table to throw him into the trash can?! He called your best friend a snob and you sit there and go, 'Oh.'" I gave her a dirty look.
I looked toward Jen's wrist and spotted a purple SHINee bracelet on her wrist. Weird, I didn't see that this morning--or maybe I did and I didn't care. Jen has this super obsession with K-pop music, whenever we're on the computer together she always tries to me to watch their videos. I'm currently forming a plan of when to break into her house and throw her laptop out a tall building.
"It's because she also thinks you're a snob." Paul commented.
"No I don't--" Jen started to protest.
"Why don't you hurl yourself down a hill? No one wants you alive," I snapped at Paul.
"Me?! No one wants you alive. You treat everyone like trash!"
"Yeah, well--"
"Can I sit here?" a small voice interrupting me.
Nose flared and red-eyed, I snapped my head to its direction. It was the same boy that tried to sit at my seat this morning. Doesn't he know this is a private table? Only me, Jen, and unfortunately, Paul sit here. As soon as Austin and I start going out he'll be here to of course.
"Sure!" Jen answered. Her hair thrashed around as she nodded. Paul moved over and the boy took a bite of the sandwich he was carrying. Paul crumbled up his tray and made a shoot for the trashcan. It missed by a landslide and landed on the floor.
"I have a pop quiz for algebra test after lunch, today. Hector told me," Jen said making light conversation.
"I hate algebra," I groan, "I have a ten in that class."
"What's your grade?"
"I was serious. On my report card it said ten percent," I blinked.
"I excel in the field of algebra. I can help you if you'd like," the boy said popping into my conversation.
"Help me?"
"Sure, we can set up a date. I think the coffee shop will be free on--"
"Did you say 'date'," I interrupted, raising my eyebrow.
"It doesn't have to be a date if you don't want it too," the boy said hastily.
"No, no, no. People like me don't go on dates with people looking like you. If we were in a movie, I'd be considered the Beauty while you would be a beast. And another thing, I don't even know you. You randomly pop up one day in my homeroom and decide to schedule a 'date'," by now everyone in the cafeteria was watching the scene unfold, "So in simple words; no, I will not go on a date, or a study date or whatever it is you call it."
The boy looked absolutely mortified. He grabbed his sandwich and ran out the cafeteria. Paul stood up and gave me a killer look. "You're positively right, you don't treat others like they're beneath you," he said with sarcastic venom dripping from his tongue. Then he followed the boy.

"That was really harsh back there in the cafeteria," Jen said as she unfolded her sleeping bag.
Tomorrow was the weekend concert and since Jen and I were leaving early tomorrow for the concert that I haven't told Danny about yet, she decided to sleep over. Not that I minded, it was much better than sitting in bed by myself as I read a book.
"It's not like he's going to doing anything," I said rolling my eyes as I positioned myself on my blanket next to Jen--it was rude to have someone sleep on the floor as I laid in luxury on my bed.
"You never know, maybe he'll get his sister or something to jump you."
"Or he'll call his mother and tell her how mean I was. On Monday I'm definitely making my move on Austin."
"Oh no--what do you plan to do?"
I winked at her, "Just know after I'm done with him he won't be putting on that shy persona any longer."
"Whatever, turn off the light; we have to get up early tomorrow."
I shut off the light and closed my eyes to sleep. I was awakened by a loud scream hours later.
