"What?" Griffin says, shocked.

"I'm sorry, but it's the truth."

"But I don't understand why."

"I don't know, nerves."

"But I promise you'll like my friends."

"What if they don't like me?"

"Of course they will."

"How do you know?"

"I mean, I like you. So why wouldn't they?"

In case you're wondering what's happening right now, I'll go ahead and catch you up.

The other day, I'd been so close to spilling every little lie to Griffin. The mate bond is starting to really effect me.

I went with my Hunter brain, and shut my mouth.

He shouldn't know. I mean he should, but I can't put myself in that kind of danger.

Today, Griffin is trying to drag me along to a BBQ to meet his friends.

"Okay, fine! We'll go, but don't expect me to become instant best freinds."

"I'm just asking that you give them a chance."

"Alright, when do we go?"

"Now, we're late actually."

"So you planned on me agreeing instantly?"

"Yeah, I didn't expect you to be rethink or anything."

"Whatever, let's go."

Five minutes later we walk into a relatively small yard.

"Hey Griffin!" Some guy calls.

The group of ten instantly surrounds us.

"Hey guys, this is my mate Veronica."

"Hey Veronica, I'm Alec."

"Yeah, I recognize you. After all you did drag me out of my apartment."

We both laugh lightly.

"I'm Theo, the coolest guy you'll ever meet."

"Cocky much?" I say with a raised eyebrow.

"You don't know the half of it."

A short blonde takes over the introductions.
