the Internet wouldn't load.

That's pretty odd.

"Alright, we'll just watch the news later. Take out your textbooks and turn to page 218." The teacher said.

Many students sighed loudly, including myself. I took my textbook out of my bag and turned to page 218. Suddenly, the lights turned off. Panicking, I took out my phone and powered it on. When it turned on, it started to go off with news alerts. The same thing happened with other students' phones as they were also being powered on.

"Stay calm! Quiet!" The teacher yelled.

The class immediately went quiet. The emergency generators kicked in and the lights turned back on.

"See, no problems. It's going to be alright. Power your phones off and put them away. Read from page 218 to page 225 in your textbook." The teacher said.

I powered my phone off and shoved it into my bag. However, I was still terrified and had a very bad feeling in my stomach. I stared out the window. I was too nervous to even care about reading. Something was very wrong.

"Macy, read." The teacher said.

I sighed and stared at my book. I didn't really care about the reading. A few minutes later, the teacher clapped and I looked at him.

"Okay, class, on with the lesson." The teacher said, starting to write on the board.

I shut my book and stared out the window again. I noticed that many other students were doing the same thing.

"Take your notebooks out and be prepared to write. We are taking notes." The teacher said.

Everyone ignored the teacher.

"There's nothing out there. Look, I'll prove it. I'll even open the window. You guys need to pay attention. If you do not pass the AP exams in the spring, you will have to take this class again." The teacher said, opening the window.

We heard loud sirens. I snorted, despite my fear.

"Are you sure that there is nothing out there?" I asked.

The teacher looked out the window. Suddenly, we heard the whirring of a helicopter.

"Duck and cover!" My teacher yelled.

Ignoring him, the class crowded behind the window. A helicopter was whirring a few hundred feet away from the window, and it was headed for the school building. A helicopter was going to crash into the school. Everyone screamed and hid under a desk except for me and the teacher.

"Macy, get under your desk." The teacher said.

"No. Go hide in the supply cabinet. I've got this. My father is in the military and I know what to do with this kind of stuff." I said.

"Alright. Stay safe, Macy." The teacher said, hiding in the supply cabinet.

I shut the window and continued to look outside. The helicopter was getting closer and closer. A few minutes later, the helicopter smashed into the school. It hit the classroom a few stories above ours. It exploded into flames. I watched in horror as burnt bodies and pieces of the shattered helicopter fell to the ground.

The flames licked at the school building. They were starting to spread to our classroom.
