After I dropped the kids off at home I swung by Sebastian's house to drop Ari off and change into my work clothes. But on the way there I finally got some answers out of Ari about the proposal.

"So you said yes?!" I squealed as I parked in front of Ash's house. Ari blushed and covered her face with her hands.

"Yeah. Yeah I said yes!" She seemed really excited and shy. "I mean, we're not gonna get married until after I graduate, so it's gonna be about a year and a half, but yeah. Oh my god Tay, I'm engaged!!" I reached across the console and hugged my best friend tightly.

"I am so happy for you guys. You deserve this.... and I better be your bridesmaid." I jokingly punched her arm as we got out of the car.

"Of course you will! But um, don't tell a bunch of people, or anyone really.... our parents don't even know yet." Ari muttered under her breath. I nodded and we then went inside.

I went to the bathroom with my backpack and stripped out of my shorts and bathing suit and threw on my undergarments and my work pants then I called my boss.

"Hey Taylor, what's up?" He asked

"Hey Eric, um, I was just wondering if you could tell me who's coming tonight... the curiosity has been eating at me all day..."

"No. I can't just tell you, but I can give you a hint and you can guess as long as you don't tell anyone kiddo. Teenage boys. That's your hint, don't mention it to anyone, and get here pretty quick." He said just before hanging up. Teenage boys? How are teenage boys important? How can they afford to rent out an entire restaurant, let alone a 5-star restaurant like Mirror Lake.... I dug around in my backpack until I found my push up bra though. If they were teenage boys, the food wouldn't be the only thing they were going to be interested in, and if they had enough money to rent the place out, hell, maybe showing a little skin would get me a better tip.

Thank the world for Jenna Marbles. Two bras(one push up), two large socks, and some clever safety pinning later, I had my shirt on and safety pinned to my bra and my hair and makeup touched up. I told Sebastian congratulations and hugged Ari goodbye before heading out to my car, hopping in and going to work.

Once I got there I parked around back and walked in to see the other young, pretty waitress that worked here, Maci. She was tall, thin, and absolutely gorgeous, and I was really no comparison although my boss liked to think we were in the same category of “beautiful” I didn’t agree.

“Hey girl!” Maci said as I entered the kitchen. The chef was on the phone, but he waved at me. I waved back.

“Hey Maci, how are you?”

“Good. Good.... How are you?” She asked animatedly. She was 24 but she looked about 16, which is how she got this job.

“Good. Tired. Busy. Stressed.” I sighed and then shot her an extremely fake smile, to which she laughed softly.

“Well you look great, so keep it up.” She joked with me. We talked for a while until Eric came back to the kitchen.

“‘Kay girls, they’re here, get out there.” He said, his head poked through the door, then quickly disappeared out into the restaurant. I turned to Maci.

“Do you know who it is?” I asked her, still confused as I grabbed my notepad and apron.

“Nope. Eric wouldn’t tell me.” She told me, shaking her head. I sighed and pushed through the door out into the main floor, Maci following closely after me. When I got out there my jaw almost dropped at the five boys who were sitting down at the make-shift long table in the middle of the place.

One Direction.

Not only were they insanely famous, but according to Morgan - who talked about them for the rest of the day - they were appearing on an awards show tonight in LA, and, based on their smiles and the excitement in the air, they had won something. I quickly pulled myself together and threw a smile on my face that was actually pretty genuine - these boys were cute, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t excited to be able to talk to them tonight.

An hour and many alcoholic drinks into the evening I was asking the boys what they wanted to eat. I was a bit put-off that Eric allowed them to drink here, because after I took their drink orders I went back to the kitchen and looked them up on my phone. Only one of them was of legal age, so the smile on my face became forced after a few minutes. At the moment I was taking Louis’s order. He was the one of legal age, so my smile came back to life after talking, or trying to talk, to him for less than a minute.

“I just-I don’t-I-what do you recommend? I’m just horrible at picking.” He said as he smiled drunkenly at me.

“I think that our chicken fettuccine alfredo is delicious.” I told him, smiling.

“I’ll get that then. Thank you...” he trailed off, searching my body for my name tag... “Taylor.” I blushed at the way my name sounded in his accent. His eyebrows furrowed together as he looked at me. “You look familiar. Have we met, Love?” He asked, a crooked smile placed perfectly on his face

“Um, we took a picture on the beach today.”

“We did?” He questioned. I nodded.

“I would show you the picture but it’s unprofessional of me.” I told him. He nodded.

“Well then when you go back into that kitchen you can text it to me.” He said seriously.

“Um, I don’t have your number...”

“I know, Love, that’s why you’re going to write it down on your little pad there and then burn that paper after the number is in your phone. I can trust you, right?” He stuttered.

“Yes, of course.” I said seriously. He proceeded to recite numbers that I wrote down. I then smiled at him and returned to the kitchen to send him the picture.
