“Tay!” My name was screamed at me from the backseat of my car.
“Yes?” I questioned the kids - I wasn’t entirely sure which one had called my name.
“Let’s go to the beeeeaaccccchhhhhhh!!” The same one hollered, and the other two agreed. I looked over at Ari and she shrugged.
“Okay, Ari and I would need to go buy swimsuits though because we didn’t bring ours.” I told them. They somewhat chorused an “okay” so we drove down by the beach to my favorite little shop to buy swimsuits from - they were a little on the pricey side but they were worth it.
All five of us went into the little shop and the kids quickly ran of to go find water toys to play with.
“Tay, I don’t have cash on me....” Areiya muttered to me.
“Best frieend! I’ll buy it don’t worry about it.” I started off with a playful tone but became much more serious when telling her I’d pay. “And don’t worry about the price either! Just find something you absolutely love.” I smiled at her.
We walked around for about ten minutes collecting up things to try on and after trying them all on we both came to conclusions.
Areiya left with a coral colored bikini with a long fringe on the top and a floral design on half of the bottoms. Mine was a purple bikini with lots of white dots in different sizes. They were adorable, and honestly didn’t cost too much money.
Once we got to the beach the two boys went to change and Morgan came with Areiya and I and we all put our swimsuits on. The kids had towels in their backpacks, and I had a beach blanket in my trunk so we set those up and then Areiya and I worked on applying sunscreen to the kids before they ran off to the water.
“How long do you think they’re gonna be in there?” Ari asked.
“Maybe an hour or two.”
“Should we put sunscreen on?” She questioned. I shrugged before nodding.
“Yeah probably. I’ll get your back if you get mine?” I joked with her. We only put on (spf) 30 because we were okay with getting a little bit of a tan, but we didn’t want to burn. Once we were fully protected from the sun we got up - keeping an eye trained on the kids in the shallow water, and went to walk along the shore.
“So how are you and Ash?” I asked her about her boyfriend of about two years, Sebastian. She sighed and ran a hand through her hair.
“He asked me to marry him.” She said quickly. I stopped in my tracks as my jaw dropped.
“What?!” I practically screamed at her, which drew some attention. She grabbed my arm and pulled me along as I glanced at the kids.
“I know, it’s crazy.”
“Well what did you say?!”
“Well I didn’t want to say yes, but I didn’t want to hurt him and say no, and after thinking about-” Ari was cut off by a horde of screaming girls. they all went running towards the top of the beach and I ran out to go stand by the kids who were still in the water. Morgan was making her way over but I picked her up on my way to her brothers.
“No!!! Put me down!! I want to go see them!!!” She yelled angrily at me.
“Woah, hold up there. Go see who?” I asked.
“One Direction! They’re my favorite band and they’re right over there, please let me go Tay!” She begged me. I sighed and glanced at Ari who was now standing with us in the shallow water.
“Can you keep an eye on these two while I take her over there?” I asked. Ari nodded so I took Morgan’s hand and we walked back to our stuff where I got my phone and a piece of paper and pen out of my purse. We then walked over to the huge crowd of teenage girls.
All of the band members were signing things and taking pictures as we approached the outer edge of the group. I held Morgan’s hand tightly and started plowing through the girls. A minute or two later there we were, stood in the front row of girls. The paper and pen had gotten lost on the way through the crowd, but I still had my phone. One of the boys turned to me and then looked down at Morgan. He then crouched down to her level.
“Well hey there cutie, what’s your name?” He asked her, opening his arms for a hug. Morgan muttered her name and ran into his arms, almost knocking him back onto the sand. “It’s nice to meet your Morgan, do you want a picture?” He asked. She nodded furiously and I backed up and snapped a picture of the two. He then stood up and looked at me.
“Do you want one?” He asked me. I nodded, thinking that eventually it would be cool to have “met” these guys. I changed the camera so that it was front facing and the boy from the band sidled up next to me and slung an arm around my waist, pulling me close so we could both fit in the picture. I stuck my tongue out and he went cross-eyed and I tapped the screen, taking the picture.
“Y’know, I don’t even know your name.” I told him as Morgan grasped onto my leg while girls pushed past us.
“Louis!” I heard a British accent call. Louis. I smiled but then noticed that Morgan was no longer on my leg.
“Morgan!” I called out as I scanned the beach. Luckily for me Morgan had wandered over to Areiya, who was now sitting on the blanket with our stuff, and Zack and Caleb who were playing in the sand in front of her. I walked back over to them and sat down, putting my phone back in my purse.
“So Morgan said that you guys met Louis.” Ari said, smirking at me. I rolled my eyes.
“Sort of. He seems nice.” I shrugged.
“Oh yeah, that’s it?” Ari questioned.
“Well,” I blushed. “His eyes are kind of sort of maybe a little bit gorgeous.” I muttered.
“OOOOHHHHHH Taylor’s got a crush!!!!” Areiya yelled. I slapped my hand over her mouth and glared at her.
“No. He just has pretty eyes. And you know I have this thing with Matt.... plus, I’m sure ‘Louis’” His name rolled off my tongue with disgust “is a total douche bag.”
After spending another half hour or so at the beach the kids were done, and as we were packing up my car my phone vibrated. I unlocked it and read the text I had just gotten.
We need you tonight. Can you work from 9 to 2? My eyes widened.
2am?
Yes.
Um, yeah, sure. Who booked the place anyway?
The next text would reveal this mysteriou - my thought was cut off by my phone.
I can’t tell you yet. It can’t get out. But you’ll find out when you get here. Thanks for being so flexible Taylor!
No problem :)
Since we still had time before the kids had to be home I decided I’d take them out to the barn with me - since I wouldn’t have time to go see my horse later.
When I pulled up to the barn we all got out and the kids, along with Areiya and I got our clothes out of the trunk. We all walked into the barn and went towards the bathrooms. There were two bathrooms so the boys went to one while Ari, Morgan and I stepped into the other one to put our clothes on. They were much faster than me as my shorts were pretty tight. and just as I got them on I heard a banging noise coming from one of the stalls. I threw the rest of my clothes at Areiya and ran out of the bathroom and over to the stall where the noise was coming from. I peered in and the horse was cast.
