Miranda's pov

I'm surprised to see Jason walk into my apartment complex with a guitar and a gym bag. I walk over, curious. "Hey Jason, I didn't know you lived here." He smiles. "I do now. Thanks to that money you gave me. I was living in the bar. Thanks." My heart swells at the thought of me being the one to help him! When he helped me spiritually. "No need to thank me. I'm glad to help." I say. He hugs me, catching me by surprise. "That money just might help me make it here." He says. I'm shocked. I go to my apartment and he goes to his. Wow. I'm thinking about everything when a knock sounds at the door. I smile betting it's Jason. I open it though and it's the landlord. He hands me a letter. "Oh thank you." I open it and it's from mom apologizing for making me marry that awful man. I was mad about it all so I wouldn't answer her calls. Then I hear singing. "Someday I'm gonna be famous do I have talent well no. These days you don't really need it thanks to reality shows. Can't wait to date a supermodel, can't wait to sue my dad, can't wait to wreck a ferarri on my way to rehab." I walk across the hall to his room. "You can act just like a fool people think you're cool, just cause you're on TV. Bein' a celebrity." I knock on the door and the music stops. Seconds later, he opens it. "That was really good." I say. He smiles. "Oh you liked that. An old Brad Paisley favorite of mine. If ya want to come in I could sing for you." "I'd love to." I say. I walk into his apartment and he picks the guitar back up. "What do ya wanna hear?" "Uh... I don't know much. I've never been one to listen to music until now." His eyes go wide. "Wait, you've never listened to music?" "Not much." I say, blushing. He smiles. "Well, that my friend, changes today." "A hit from the king of country music Mr. George Strait." He says then starts strumming. "It started way back in third grade, I used to sit beside Emmy Lou Hayes. A pink dress, a matching bow, and pony tail, she kissed me on the school bus but told me not to tell. Next day I chased her round the playground, across the monkey bars, and around the merry go round. And Emmy Lou got caught passin' me a note before the teacher took it, I read what she wrote. Do you love me do you wanna be my friend and if ya do, well then don't be afraid to take me by the hand if you want to, I think this is how love goes check yes or no." I can't believe I'm about to do this. But he's different. His eyes are closed as he sings the next lines. I stand up and grab his hand. His eyes flash open in surprise. I kiss his cheek. "But don't tell." I say walking out and back to my apartment. Oh my gosh! That was so much fun!

Jason's pov

My hands fall to my sides in shock. "Did that... Just happen?" I choke out. It did. I did not imagine it. I set my guitar down and walk across the hall to her apartment. I knock on the door. "Um.... What.... What just happened?" The door opens. My face gets red. "Do you wanna go out tonight? My treat?" I ask. She smiles. "Yeah I'd like that." I smile and hold her hand. "See ya tonight." I find myself saying. I kiss her cheek then walk back to my apartment.
