"Mommy look!" The little girl shouts excitedly. She points to brightly coloured Farris wheel and grabs my hand. She starts to drag me towards the ride with so much enthusiasm.
We reach the small line and wait patiently to take a seat. The little girl bounces up and down, her eyes stare up at the giant wheel as it spins."Mommy. Mommy! This is awesome" she squeals as we get into the cart. The ride moves and soon we stop at the top to let more people on.
It's not very long before we move and the ride begins. Spinning around in circles.
The girl rocks the cart.
"Stop!" I yell, but she doesn't. She continues and rocks it even faster.
At the very top, we stop, but it isn't the normal stop to let others off the ride. It was to sudden and harsh. My heart racing, I look carefully over the side to see anything.
The once colourful fair was not full and faded, the sunny sky now a dark grey. There was no other source of life other than me and the little girl. I could faintly see other figures on the ground below, but the remained motionless. I turn back to the girl, certain she must be frightened, but as I turn I'm met with a dark decaying skeleton. Most of the flesh had completely decomposed and the bones showed quite well. I jump back making as much space between me and this thing as I can. How? Just seconds ago everything was so lovely and bright. Now everything looked dead and forgotten. Panic rushes through me as I realize I'm trapped on the ride with a dead body and no other living person to save me from what I can see.
"Help! Please someone help!" I know my cries are useless and most likely unheard, but I really have no other way. Tears bluer my vision and my throat burns from my urgent screams for help. There was no possible way to get down, the metal bars that minutes ago were shiny and brightly painted, were now rusty and covered with faded chipped paint. Screws and bolts were a orange brown colour and looked to be falling out, so this plan couldn't possibly work.
Hot tears pored down my face and I buried my head in my hands and let out loud pathetic sobs.
"Mommy? Are you ok?" A small voice said beside me. I felt a little warm hand on my shoulder. I looked up as saw the little girl, alive, not the decaying carcass. I looked around and saw we were still on the ride at the top but everything was normal again.
"Are you scared of the ride mommy?" Snapping out my own thoughts I look at the little girl and try to comprehend what was happening.
"Y-yeah I guess so.." There was so much running through my head right now.
The ride began moving again and within seconds we reached the bottom and were let off the ride.
Gun shots went off and screams filled the surrounding area, a horrible pain coursed through my chest. I looked down to see the little girl with blood pooling out of her skull and a hole is her head. Her once beautiful blonde hair was now a dark crimson and she had stopped breathing.
It was then I noticed jut how bad my chest hurt, so I looked down and noticed the same colour red dripping down my chest and stomach. My head became light and everything around me was spinning. The screams of fear slowly faded and I felt like I was drifting off into a peaceful sleep.
