My pastor Vernon risner is like no other preacher. He's a one of a kind. He doesn't tell his life story like others. He's not boring like other preachers. He actually speaks the word of truth.

He has two daughters. The oldest is Lydia. She is 8 and is in 2nd grade. The other one is karis. She is 5.

His daughters are so sweet. They always give me a hug every Sunday morning. I met his daughters and wife Melissa at church. His wife was the music teacher for awanas. She is beautiful and amazing.

Then I met Vernon at church when I first came. He talked to me about baptism because I really wanted to. And he gave me a hug after we talked. I felt so loved having a pastor like him. We made the baptism scheduled for two weeks later.

When 2 weeks finally came I got really scared. I felt like I would drown if I go in. especially being in a big crowd. I felt like wanting to back out. But I realized god would be there and make sure I would be safe.

After I got baptized I was so happy. Then I realized I didn't have to find a church anymore. I finally had a church family. So next week everyone hugged me and told me how great I was. They told me that they were proud.

Proud of ... Me. I didn't know my life would change like that. I felt so special. Then I met others. I couldn't believe this all happened from going to awanas.

Awana was the reason I went to church. Back when my family didn't come I would tell them about vernon after church. Then they got interested. Then they started coming to church. 3 weeks later they all got baptized at the same time.

I love my pastor vernon . he's like a older brother to me. Even though we haven't known each other that long I still think of him as a brother. He helped changed my life. He changed my life forever.
