A Shōjō is a Japanese ghost-like monster but is different in that it is tangible and alive. However, similar to ghosts, it is invisible. Another difference between a Shōjō and a ghost is that Shōjō has claws and you can only see them if you are drunk. To kill a Shōjō you must use a katana placed in running water with a Shinto blessing being spoken over it.
