"where are we going?"

"i told you. it's a surprise!"

"but i don't like surprises!"

"i think you'll like this one. besides, there's no turning back. we're already here."

harry excitedly pressed his face to the window, like a kid on christmas, hoping for snow.

it was a fair. he could see the ferris wheel, the mini games, the food carts.

"oh my god, this is going to be so fun, lou-i mean louis."

harry's face flustered and louis looked at him admiringly, stepping out of the car. he walked around to harry's side and opened the door for him, taking his hand.

harry got out and they both headed in the direction of the ticket booth, where an older lady stood.

"two tickets please," louis announced, reaching for his wallet.

harry whispered to him, "i can pay for mine. you're already doing so much just by taking me here."

"oh, harry, c'mon. it's not like money is a problem," he laughed sarcastically.

harry nodded, but hesitantly, because he still felt like he should pay for something.

the lady took his money and put it in the cash register as she made small talk with them.

"you two siblings? you don't look much alike."

"no, actually, we're uh-we're-"

"boyfriends," harry finished for him, smiling proudly.

louis tried to hide the grin that spread from cheek to cheek. boyfriends. it didn't feel much different, but it made it official. like it was something that louis had always wanted, but he wanted harry's approval.

he blushed and took the tickets from her hands.

"so where do you want to go first? we can go to the ferris wheel, the mirror maze, or-oh look! louis they have giant teddy bears over there!"

louis chuckled at his excitement, inputting his own opinion.

"...or, we could go to the rollercoaster. devil's death."

he motioned to the big red sign in front of them, that stood in front of the wooden rollercoaster.

"i don't know. it looks a little...steep."

"it'll be fun!"

harry didn't say anything, but put on a squeamish look, that louis didn't notice because he had already begun running towards it, dragging harry behind.

"i don't think i can do this."

"you'll be fine, harry, it's just a ride."

harry felt his stomach churn as an employee came around, double checking the metal bars, also known as the only thing keeping them from falling one hundred feet down.
