As the dark clouds roll across the sky students run out to their cars or bus trying to stay dry as possible. Thunder claps making my ears ring then flashes of lighting dances about the darkness. Through the ringing in my ears I hear the horns of cars blaring as everyone is trying to leave the parking lot. When everyone is gone I watch the rain downs race down the window.

As if breaking a trace Mrs. Davis, my guidance counselor, tells me to come into her office.

"Sara," she says in a stern voice. "I've notice that your grades have been getting worse since we last talked."

"I've been preoccupied." I murmured.

"With?"

"I can't tell you..."

"Sara I am trying to help you." She interrupted.

"I know you are. I just can't..."

"Sara, everything you tell me is confidential. Unless you are suicidal I won't tell anyone. You just have to help me help you."

"You say that now but once I tell you all that will change." I half cried.

"I promise that no matter what it is I will ask your permission first."

"Whatever. It's not like you won't find out eventually."

"Find out what?"

"That I hear voices in my head."

Tears are rolling down my face and she just sits there. She sits there giving that look like she doesn't know whether to hug me or to call the crazy house.

"How long have you been hearing them for?" she finally asked after a few moments of silence.

"Since I was twelve."

"Is that why you ran away."

"Yeah. At first it was only one then as I got older more started in."

"How many do you hear now?"

"Three. Alice, Lily, and Emma."

"Sara, I need to ask you something."

"If it's about therapy I'm not going."

"It's technically not therapy." She argued. "We have a group for teens in the community that are suffering from anything from anorexia to suicidal thoughts.

"I refuse to go."

"Sara without this you won't be able to graduate" She plead. "This group isn't only for talking it's a place where these students can have help with their classes."

"If I do this will it keep me out of the crazy house?"

"That is entirely up to you."

"Fine I'll do it."
