(Sarah's POV)

I stood on stage and began singing:

Music boxes have within,

melodies they carry with them

once they're open music fills the air.

Every person you have known,

has a song of their own,

once they open up you'll hear whats there.

It's not easy you must listen

with your heart for what lies hidden.

There was a melody, locked deep inside of me but now its free,

It found a place embraced by harmony, sweet harmony,

Love more than anything,

Teaches our hearts to sing,

Only love, could break the spell,

now I know, very well,

the love within myself.

There was a melody, locked deep inside of me but now its free,

It found a place embraced by harmony, sweet harmony,

Love more than anything,

Teaches our hearts to sing,

Only love, could break the spell,

now I know, very well,

the love within myself.

(Erik's POV)

I heard a voice that I hadn't heard in years. It was like an angel. I walked into the Opera House and bought my ticket, I found my seat by the time the angel started her second verse.

The woman finished the song and then looked around the cheering crowds. She smiled and curtsied. I stood up and clapped. She was wonderful.

(Sarah's POV)

As I looked around the crowd, I saw a man in a white mask, clapping loudly. My eyes widened and I felt my head begin to swim as I fainted to the ground.

When I finally came to, I was lying on a small couch in my dressing room. I quickly dismissed the nurse who was with me. I was fine after all. I sat up and then my little son ran into the room.

"Mommy!" He smiled and gave me a flower.

I took the flower and sniffed it. "Thank you, Little Phantom." I said as I kissed his forehead.

He laughed at the name I called him. "That's like Daddy's name!"

I nodded. "Yep! And, you're a lot like him." I said sadly. I thought I had seen him in the crowd but I had probably just imagined it. Like I had so many times.

Mike climbed up on the couch and hugged my. "Tell me about him again, Mommy."

ST = I hugged my son back. "He was smart. He could play any instrument he wanted to. He built this Opera House and he always wanted me to sing in it for him." I got a far off look in my eyes. "He was a good man. A kind one."

CS = "Did he love you?" I asked her.

ST = I nodded. "Very much." I whispered.

CS = "Why did Daddy leave then?" I asked.

ST = "He wanted me to find someone better." I said softly. "He felt he couldn't be a proper father to you and husband to me." I held Mike tighter. "I wish he had stayed."

CS = I nodded, "I do too."

ST = "Maybe one day he'll get tired of traveling the world and come back to us." I said as I stood up, picking him up and balancing him on my hip.

CS = I held onto her and nodded again. "Does he wear a mask like me?" I asked as I pointed to mine.

ST = I nodded and as we stepped through the mirror in my dressing room, I slipped it off. "Yes, he did. Though, he didn't like to have it off. He was raised to think he was ugly." I said as I kissed my son's deformed cheek.

CS = "But you think I'm handsome, right Mommy?" I asked.

ST = I nodded. "I know you are." I said as we walked down the five cellars to our house.

CS = I smiled and held on tighter to her.

ST = I walked into our house and frowned. I heard music coming from the music room. "Mike, go to my room and change out of your nice clothes. I don't want them dirty." I said as I sat him down.

CS = I nodded. "Yes, Mommy." I said as I ran to our room.

ST = I took a deep breath and walked towards the music room, opening the door and freezing the moment I saw who was inside at the organ.

CS = (Erik's POV) I stopped playing the moment I saw her. "You sang like an angel tonight." I whispered.

ST = I just stared at him. "Erik?" I asked, thinking this had to be a dream or a nightmare.

CS = "Sarah." I said as I looked at her.

ST = I shook my head and turned away. "You're just my imagination." I whispered.

CS = I stood up and walked up to her. "Are you sure?"

ST = I nodded. "Erik isn't ever coming back. He found someone else who can make him much happier than I." I said as I hung my head.

CS = "How do you know that for sure?" I asked her as I stood in front of her. "From what I know, he went to America and build an amusement park in Coney Island." I looked at her, "I also heard, that he's in town."

ST = I sighed. "If so, then why would he look up his ex-wife?" I asked.

CS = "Maybe he had a change of heart?" I suggested. "Maybe he couldn't find happiness among all the smoke and noise?"

ST = "Erik never changes his mind. I know that. He hurt me more than once with it." I said as I walked into the living room and sat down.

CS = I followed after her and sighed. "Touch me. Trust me. Savor each sensation." I sung softly.

ST = I turned around and looked at him. No one could sing like he did. I began to sob uncontrollably.
