Where It Began

Today was the day of the cheap $15 concert. I didn't know what band it was but I might make friends with them just in case they actually get far in life. I heard the call themselves "Glass Eye". My boyfriend, Jason, decided to come along too but I don't know if that's a good idea. There will be a bar there, and he gets mad when he's drunk, I don't know how that will turn out but I'm giving him a shot.
We drive to the concert and go into the building. There's a lot more people than I expected, this band might be actually good. I don't see anyone I know so I just sit down at a table with Jason. The band finally arrives and they get settled. The first song they play is their cover of Garden Grove by Sublime. They should really change their name is they cover Sublime often... I think to myself. I see Jason has made his way to the bar and I get a little scared. I try to think about the band more than Jason.
The drummer has a nice steady pace, and the singer has a great voice... I finally got my mind on just the band until someone slapped me right across the face. I fell to the ground and looked up to see Jason's foot about to smash my face in. "Stop the music!" Someone yelled. Jason was piched away and I was pulled up. The singer of the band had stopped the music just to help me. Everyone started yelling at Jason and security took him away. That just means me and him are done for. "Are you alright?" The curly headed singer asks. "I'm fine," I reply. "No you're not. Let's get you some ice." We ask the bartender for a rag and ice. After putting the ice on my face I knew everything was gonna be alright.
The concert was over and everyone started to go home. The singer stopped me before I was about to leave. "Hey, come to our van to chat for a few." He says. Knowing my dumb self would walk into a strangers home, I actually went to the van. We talked for a few minutes about the concert and the whole Jason thing. The singer asked me for my number so he could check on me, then he gave me his number. I went home and looked at the number. On the back was written, "I think you're pretty cute -Matthew Castro ❤"
