Can you hear
The painful wails
Of sunbaked Democracy
That has been thrown
Into the depths of lies
Can you hear
The contortions of the truth
Spout off by bribed politicians
In an Italian suit
Made by children in India
Can you hear
Over the conversations
Of condemned souls
And listen for the whispers
Of the receding white
Slithering in to the unnoticed
Cracks in the woodwork
Can you hear
The plop plop plop
Of vitalities dripping
Into the negative zero
And beyond all of human creation
Can you hear
The birds in unplanned flight
Leaving already forgotten
Forever homes
Can you hear
The human laughter
Drowning out a dying race
Of happy smiles
Can you hear
The thumping anger
Of gas mile cars
With their wafting perfumes
Floating into the protection's destruction
And contaminating our lives
