"Mom, can I just-"
"No."
"Mom! I don't want to be stuck in this damn hospital room!" I exclaimed, "Can I just take a simple walk down the hallways."
"No." Mom stated once more and I let out a low groan.
I watched her check my IV's and place the tray of food in front of me but I wasn't hungry for hospital grilled cheese. I was hungry for a Reece's and to at least see if Lydia was alright. But my mother wasn't having it and I was going to loose my mind if I had to be in here for another three hours doing nothing. She sat down besides me and sighed, seeing my disinterest in the food.
"Case," She pleaded, "Would you please at least eat the jello? I made it myself."
"Mom." I groaned, "I've been in this hospital room since the surgery to remove the bullet and I haven't even been let out since."
"I know, but I just want you to heal up as fast as you can so I can bring you home." Mom said to me with sincere eyes.
I looked at her and breathed out heavily, "Well can I at least take a shower after I eat?"
Her eyes narrowed at me, "No I'm going to let you sit here and continue to be covered in filth."
"I think I know who I got the sarcasm from." I snorted, watching her kiss my forehead and leave my room.
I picked at the grilled cheese before finally taking a full bite, chewing slowly and taking my time. Settling back on the jello and eating that instead, my door creaked open and Scott crawled in, "Hey."
My eyes scanned over him and I held out my big bowl of green jello, "Join me?"
His brows wrinkled up in disgust until I said the word 'mom' and he scampered to my hospital bed and climbed on, taking the spoon from my hand and digging in. We sat in silence for awhile, leaning against each other until Scott's gentle voice broke the silence.
"I'm sorry I ignored you." He looked at me for a moment before focusing back on the jello.
"I'm sorry I hurt your feelings. I shouldn't have said what I said, it just kinda came out." I explained, taking another bite.
"I get it," Scott nodded, "I forgive you."
"I forgive you too," I smiled and then laughed, "Is Stiles still asleep on the benches?"
Scott snorted, "Duh. He's mumbling a few words though."
"Huh?" I looked at him, tilting my head, "Like what? 'Scott should watch Star Wars'?"
Scott smirked, "Something like that."
I hit his shoulder in a joking matter, "Come on, tell me."
"You really want to know?" Scott asked.
"Duh." I mocked him.
Scott tried stiffling his laughter, "God Case, he was having a dream about you."
"Oh that's not bad." I shrugged it off but Scott coughed, "What? It's just a dream."
Scott snorted, "Yeah, just a dream. Come on Casey, even I can put this together and you're the smart one."
I thought about it for a moment and froze, "Oh." Then it hit me, "OH. Oh god he was having a dirty dream!?"
Laughing Scotty got up, kissing my forehead and walked out, "I'm gonna go see Allison. I'll be back later."
I sighed, setting my Jello down and stared at my plate. Stiles thought of me like that? I wondered. Putting my feet to the floor I stood up, walking over to the window and opening it. I could feel the cold air hit my face as I leaned, watching the sky turn from light blue to a navy blue.
