Third Person P.O.V

~500 years in the future~

Thalia Grace's scream of horror and anguish resonated over the battlefield as her brother's body fell limply to the ground, a slave to gravity. Subconsciously, Thalia's powers reacted as a forked bolt of lightning hit the cat-like creature that caused her brother's demised, turning it to charcoal immediately.

"No..." she sobbed rocking Jason's body as his eyes stared dimly at his father's domain, the passionate life that previously sparked through them now diminished. Thalia's hand, trembling with grief, was laid on the side of his pale, lifeless face as her tears dropped upon it.

For the second time in Thalia's life, Jason Grace had died.

They all, friend or foe, stopped and stared as the daughter of lightning mourned the death of her only sibling, the last of her mortal family.

A choked sob sounded from behind the masses as a daughter of Aphrodite, previously too engaged in her own fight to be aware of what had happened, stumbled forward. The crowds parted as Piper shakily walked towards the body of her love, sobbing as she did.

"Jason" she brokenly muttered, kneeling in his blood and taking his cold hand. She shook him, almost as if she was trying to wake him up from death, "No, you can't be dead. Not after all we went through, all we survived. You promised, Jason, you promised we'd be together. Please, don't be dead. You promised...Please"

"Jason!" she screamed, her voice tearing across the war-raged camp. She unsteadily stood up, her kaleidoscope eyes so dark, they could be considered black.

"You did this." she borderline hysterically addressed the army of Order, her voice raising in pitch and volume "You killed him! You killed my Jason! All of you, if your master is Order, stab yourself in the heart, just like you did to him"

The entire white-clad army raised their respective weapons, helpless beneath the power of Piper's grief-stricken charmspeak, and impaled themselves in their chests. The saddest thing was, that a few traitorous demigods were forced to follow the command. The eldest couldn't have been more than thirteen.

Piper collapsed to her knees next to the body of her love, gripping his shirt and she openly convulsively wept, her wails sounding across the silent camp.

Aphrodite couldn't help but be reminded of her beloved Silena when Beckendorf passed. Her daughters were supposed to be the ones who broke their lovers heart, not the other way around. Wordlessly, the goddess of love strode forward and embraced her inconsolable child, feeling her own tears form. No one should have to suffer such loss, especially not one as young as Piper.

"We were getting married..." Piper choked into her mother's shoulder, limply holding up an elegant hand that was adorned with a ring. It was simple- a white gold band with a clear diamond resting peacefully atop. Either side was an opal, a thousand colours just like her eyes. It wasn't flashy or overly expensive, but Piper loved it. She felt it reflect her personality, and swore to wear it until the day she died.

She never thought that Jason would die first.

Aphrodite looked at the ring, and then at her daughter, "I'm so sorry, my child. I'm so, so sorry".

From afar, Zeus was frozen as he stared at the cold body that used to contain the soul of his son. Realisation crashed upon him with the force of a hurricane. His son, his Jason was dead- and it was his fault. Suddenly, the king of Olympus knew exactly why the other gods had demanded the annulment of that law. The law that forbade them from saving their children. The law that he was so adamant to uphold.

Why? Zeus demanded of himself. Why did he ensure that that law was to be followed? Because it was written in the ancient scriptures? Laws were supposed to help people, maintain the peace.
