Is Liam Payne A Cheater ?

Chapter One: Don't Wait Up

Sophie's point of view-

"Liam, babe, where are you going?" I asked him. He is getting more and more distant from me as the days go on. "I'm going out, don't wait up." He said as he slammed the front door to our apartment. I winced at the loud noise. "Get used to it Sophie, he does it all the time now." I mumbled to myself. Going over to the TV, hoping to soon fall asleep.

You're probably wondering why I'm not going to wait for Liam. Well he normally gets home really late or he just doesn't come home. Every time I ask where he is he just says "I'm with the boys. You can even ask them." Being the trusting person I am, I believe him. But something about the way he left today was strange.

Sadly, sleep didn't feel like visiting me. So I dialed my best friends number to ask for advice. "Hey, Emma!" I exclaim, when I hear the dial tone end. "Hey, Soph." She says, her breathing sounds really uneven over the phone. "Oh, sorry, I'm probably interrupting something, aren't I?" I feel embarrassed now. "Umm, yeah, kind of." She says. I decide to just say bye and hang up.

I'll call Daisy. She will probably have better advice anyways. I dialed her number and seconds later I hear her pick up. "Hey, Soph!" She exclaims. "Hey, Dais! I kind of need advice." I say, my voice drifting off as I start thinking. "What's wrong girly?" She asks, taking on a serious tone.

"It's Liam. He seems to be getting more and more distant from me! He disappears every night! I mean he says that he's going to see the boys but, I'm starting to believe that he's lying!" I wailed. There were tears building up at the corner of my eye as I continued. I felt like I was about to break down. "Oh, Soph! I'm going to come over, now, with four pints of ice cream! Oh, I almost forgot about movies! What ones should I bring?"

Without hesitation I said "Toy Story." That made me even more upset when I realized that I'd said Liam's favorite movie. I told her to not bring that one and then I gave her a list of chick-flicks instead. While I was waiting for her to come I decided to pop two bags of popcorn. After all of the popcorn was popped, I took it into the living room and snuggled back up on the couch.

I started to drift off into memories of when we met. He was so much kinder then.

~Flashback~

It was raining so hard. I was chilled to the bone. Everyone was running to their cars but I couldn't find mine. I was leaving the supermarket as the storm started.

It wasn't just raining either. Pieces of hail decided to start raining down from the sky. Of course with my luck I was the last one in the parking lot. I was debating whether to just sprint to my car, or just sit here and wait until someone with an umbrella was kind enough to help me find my car.

Right as I was about to run out into the parking lot and run around until I found my car, I heard an umbrella open over my head. "I couldn't help but notice that you don't have an umbrella. I wouldn't want you to get a cold." Said the mysterious person behind me. I felt like I had heard their voice somewhere before.

"Would you like me to help you to your car?" He said. I turned to face the one and only Liam Payne. "Um, yeah, sure?" I questioned. What was I supposed to do? His security would probably get mad if he wandered off though. Especially with a stranger. "Your Liam Payne right?" I asked, failing miserably at acting normal.

"Yeah, I should probably get the name of the lovely girl I'm holding an umbrella for, shouldn't I?" He said, winking at me. "I'm Sophie Cole, you can just call me Soph." I looked away to see if my car could be spotted, but no such luck for me.

"Have you spotted what your looking for?" He asked kindly, bringing me back into the moment. "No, I cant find my car!" I exclaimed, growing frustrated. "Liam! Why did you disappear?! Security is pissed!" I heard someone scream from behind us. I looked over my shoulder to see a flustered Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson.

"I was just helping Sophie find her car." He said. "Wait, you know each other?" Louis questions. "No, but we kind of do now." He says looking at me. "I don't want to get any of you in trouble. I'll get going." I say, walking into the parking lot. After walking a few yards I spot my little, yellow, Mini Cooper.

As I'm walking there is a massive crash of thunder. We all know that when there's thunder and rain/hail, there is going to be lightning. So I started sprinting to my car. I opened the door and threw the groceries onto the passenger seat.

As I was taking the groceries inside, I realized that my wallet was dropped somewhere in the parking lot. I cursed and decided that I could call the store and see if it was still there. It has my cell phone number written on the back of it in case things like this ever happen.

I decided to just chill out and see if anyone calls to return it.

After a few hours I got a phone call from a blocked number. "Hello?" I asked/greeted the person. "Hey, Soph, I found your wallet in the parking lot. I was wondering if you would like to meet up for some lunch and get it from me?" The person asks me. "Is this Liam?" I say just so I can confirm it to myself. "Yes, in fact it is. So, how about that lunch?"

~Reality~

He was so sweet to me when we first met. A year, or so, after we started dating and became acquaintances with each others friends was when everything started getting weird. He got really close to Emma, I mean they got along like brother and sister, so nothing was suspicious.

My thoughts were quickly disrupted by the loud buzz of my doorbell. "I'm coming Dais! You can stop ringing the freaking doorbell!" I shouted as I walked to the door. She always did this! She would push the buzzer until you opened the door and pulled her inside.

Once she was inside, we sat down on the couch and watched movies while talking and eating ice cream. She knows me well enough to know that I won't tell her what happened until tomorrow. I probably won't even have to tell her. Dais knows that Liam is causing most of my problems recently.

I'm worried that he's lying to me. I mean what would I do if he is? We live together and my mom isn't an option to live with. I don't have very much money either.

What will I do?
