Look Me In The Eye

We get away from the crowd and sit down on a bench. I notice he keeps staring at my lips while I'm talking, then looks away. Hope I don't have anything on them because I ate some chocolate ice cream earlier!

Suddenly he says "Caroline, I like you a lot. Do you wanna go out with me the next time I'm in LA?" Of course, I say yes. We get along well and I'm not seeing anyone at the moment, so this doesn't sound too bad. It sucks that he's flying back to Maryland tomorrow, but at least we have today to spend time together.

He smiles and again I catch him glancing at my lips, but this time he looks me in the eye and doesn't look away. We're not saying a word, but I know exactly what he thinks, his face shows it. And I'm thinking the same thing too.

He comes closer to me. Marcus reaches for a strand of hair that's covering my face and gently moves it, leaning in to kiss me. It feels so nice, I can literally feel my heart beating ten times faster in my chest. I close my eyes and fully give in to the kiss, knowing this might not happen again for months until we see each other.

I can hear screams and shouts, this time from deep voices. I open my eyes and see Lucas, along with 3 other boys and 1 girl, jumping and running to us. "Yeah, Marcus, kiss that girl, you go buddy!" a blonde, tall boy yells.

Marcus looks embarrassed, he feels bad that his friends are acting like this, but I think it's funny and I laugh. Marcus turns to me, we look at each other and start laughing again. He takes my hand and we go join the rest of his friends. We'll meet again in a couple of months, for sure.
