My name is Veronica, but everyone calls me Ronnie. I am sixteen years old, almost seventeen. I have long, wavy sky blue hair, which falls to my waist. I have bright green eyes. I have a little brother named Jonah. He has brown hair, and brown eyes. We live with my mom in New York City. My dad lives in a small town in Texas. He has lived there since Jonah was a baby, so about six years now. That's basically all there is to know about me. I'm your typical teenage girl.
My alarm clock goes off, and I groan, hitting the snooze button. "Veronica, wake up! You don't want to be late for school," mom calls, from downstairs. Mom is probably the only person who doesn't call me Ronnie, apart from dad, who I haven't talked to since he left. I sit up really fast, and jump out of bed. I forgot that today was the last day of school! I run to my closet, and grab black jeans, white tank top, bright green shirt, my jean jacket hoodie, and my black combat boots. I put on my necklace that has an 'R' on it, and some bracelets. I grab my phone and walk downstairs. I quickly eat breakfast, and get ready for school. I leave my pull my hair into a side braid, and grab my backpack. I say goodbye, and run out the door, and down the street to school.
When I get to school, I go straight to the auditorium, where I am meeting my friends. I look around the crowd of people, and I'm able to pick out my group of friends. "Hey, Isabella," I say, walking over to a group. "Hey, Ronnie," she says, turning around. I was only able to pick her out so fast because, she is the shortest kid in the school, and she has really, really red hair. "Hey, Kylie, hey, Cecelia," I say. "Hey," they respond. The auditorium suddenly gets louder than usual. "Alright, alright. Settle down everyone, and take your seats," I hear the principal say into the microphone. We all sit down. "As you all know, today is the last day of school, which means that it is a free day," he starts. People start cheering. "Free day from going to classes, is what I meant." The crowd starts groaning. "Come on! Half of you should be used to his by now," he says. The auditorium suddenly becomes silent, and everyone looks at him.
"Now, what I have been trying to tell you is, that today is a special day. Today, we are going to have a.. Talent show!" The crowd starts whispering. "Ronnie, you have to go up there," Kylie whispers, while Jackson goes on stage and juggles. "No," I whisper back. "Why not?" "I don't want to." "Oh. Okay." Lucas goes up and plays the guitar, Kylie goes up and sings Someone Like You by Adele, and a few other people go up. I think that you get the idea. After it ended, the principal says some things, and than we leave. "So, what are we going to be doing his summer," Isabella asks, eager to know. "Yeah," Kylie, and Cecelia chime in, as we walk up my street to my house. "Um, I was thinking we go to the beach, and the carnival.. Things like that," I start. "Yes. That sound awesome." We walk inside my house.
