Eliza's POV

I started to feel the ache in my chest, with my heart pounding. I put my hand on my throat that was already burning.

"Eliza, are you okay?" Harry asked and grabbed my shoulders gently. My breathing felt heavier like I was drowning.

I shook my head no, I was unable to speak. Oh no, it's happening again. He's going to find out.

My vision began to be blurry and I went limp and fell towards the floor. "Eliza!" Harry called and strong arms went around me.

He picked me up and carried me most likely to his car outside. I could feel the wind blow against my hair.

Before I knew it, I had passed out.

~~ Harry's POV

I watched Eliza hesitantly wanting her to wake up. She looked so weak and fragile, like she would break so easily.

"Hold on Eliza we are almost here," I said as I pulled up to the hospital.

I graciously picked her up and ran into the building. "We need help, she's hardly breathing!"

The doctors and nurses just looked at me. I then realized I had only my boxers on and she had just her underwear and shirt.

"Someone help her!" I growled loudly and a nurse came with a rolling bed and a doctor helped Eliza onto it.

Her eyes twitched open towards me and her hand raised for mine. Before I could reach it she was taken in another room.

I followed after her and another nurse stopped me, "I'm sorry lad, you have to wait out here."

She then realized her hand was on my bare chest and she quickly took it away. "What is her full name so I can contact her family?"

"Eliza Clark, call her sister," I said to her. I have never met her sister but from Eliza's words she was the only family she had.

She wrote down her name on a clipboard and looked back up towards me.

"And your name?"

"Harry Styles," I said and looked through the glass on the door and watched Eliza being rushed down the long hallway.

"Sir, you might want to put some clothes on," she then said.

"I can't leave her," I responded watching through the windows but she was nowhere in sight.

"I'll keep an eye on her, don't worry," she said warmly and I smiled.

"And it is policy," she said and laughed a bit at me so I could calm down.

"Alright, I'll be right back," I said and ran out towards the car and darted to my flat.

~~

When I came back, the nurse that I had talked to before was waiting for me by the front desk.

Her lips were in a line but she forced herself to smile. "Is she alright?" I asked automatically thinking of Eliza's condition.

"Yes she's fine, but we are running tests right now. She is asleep and I shouldn't be letting you see her, but the room is 104," she whispered to me.

"Thank you so much," I said to her.

"Oh and I called her sister and she will be here later tonight," she added so I nodded and jogged to room 104.

When I got to the entrance, I took a short breath and walked in.

Eliza had her eyes closed and her arms had needles piercing her skin. She had an oxygen mask over her mouth and nose, and it seemed she was breathing normal again.

I really did care for this girl, she was my world as of this moment. Even of knowing her for a short time it felt longer to me.

It may not seem so important to her but I really cared for her and hopefully she feels the same.

I eyed the room and put down a bag with her clothes, phone and purse.

A small chair hid behind the bed so I grabbed it and sat beside her. I watched her for what felt like hours, until I heard a knock at the door.

A slim built woman walked in with flowers and a unsure look on her face. She had on a black coat with heels and her hair was pinned up.

"Hi, I'm Bethany, Eliza's sister," she said to me and held out her hand.

I shook it while standing up. I then studied her face and I could tell she was Eliza's sister, "I'm Harry."

She smiled kindly and lay the flowers down on the sofa and got another chair and sat beside me.

"So how is she doing?" She asked and watched her sister in a worried but calm expression.

"Fine, the nurse said they are running tests right now," I said and put my face in my hands.

"I wonder if it has spread," she said that made my head jerk up.

"Spread?" I asked puzzled with knots forming in my stomach.

"Did she not tell you?" She asked and looked towards me.

"No, she hasn't told me anything," I said and her facial expression was identical to mine.

"Oh," was all she could say and looked away avoiding my look.

"What does she have?" I asked worried.

"Cancer," she said and I sunk in my chair feeling the tears swell in my eyes.
