"So will he be okay?", I asked the doctor.
"I'm going to be straight with you. The blows that were impacted on his body were severe. He had really bad internal bleeding and he didn't make it," the doctor said.
I fell to the ground crying.
"I'm sorry for your loss," the doctor said solemnly. I just cried harder and Marciello held me close, trying to console me.
"Can I see him?", I asked the doctor still crying. He nodded and led us into the room. I saw Marciano laying down on the bed. I went over and grabbed his hand. I let go and it fell limp. I started crying harder.
I couldn't believe he was gone. I started crying harder, while screaming his name.
"Bebé," I heard Marciello say. I just cried harder. I felt myself being shook.
I jumped awake and saw Marciello looking down at me with concern.
"Are you okay baby? You looked like you were having a nightmare," he said.
"Is Marciano okay?", I asked.
"Yeah, he's perfectly fine. He had some internal bleeding, but they got it under control,'' Marciello said. I sighed in relief.
"Where is he?", I asked.
"C'mon I'll take you," Marciello said. I nodded and he brought me into his room.
"Mommy!", Marciano yelled as I came in the room. I smiled.
"Hey my baby," I said as I went over and kissed him on the forehead. I stroked his hair away from his face.
"I missed you and Daddy so much," he said as tears swelled up in his eyes.
"We missed you too, hijo," Marciello said as he ruffled Marciano's hair.
"When can we leave here mommy, I don't like it, it smells like bleach," Marciano said as his face scrunched up.
"You guys can leave now, if you want," the doctor said coming in.
I nodded and looked down at Marciano. I was so glad he was okay.
