They waited about 5 minutes before they saw anyone. He had a full back uniform and wore a mask that came up to his eyes, so no one could tell he was. He picked up the money and started running back. "Let's go, be careful not to be seen or heard," Shikamaru said as they took off.

The man never seemed to notice that he was being followed. It was good because if he did, who knows what could happen. They stayed as far back as possible, trying to be as quite as humanly possible. Then Kiba, out of nowhere was tackled by another man dressed in full black.

"We're being followed," the second man said, as Shino and Shikamaru ran farther away so he did catch them too. The first man dropped the money," let's go, leave him be."

Kiba was let go, the two running off. How did Shikamaru miss the idea of a second man behind, watching to see if anyone was following the other? "You alright Kiba," Shino asked walking back towards him.

"Yeah, but shouldn't we be following them."

"They probably will go in an opposite direction to throw us off. If anything we need to get back to Konaha and warn Naruto."

As they got back, they told Naruto what had happened. "What does it mean," Naruto asked.

"They may either take Himawari or... Kill Boruto," Shikamaru replied.

"We need to hurry, I'll tell Hinata watch closely over Himawari just in case."

"While you're there grab one of Boruto's clothes. We could use that to track a scent."

"Right."

Soon after, Kiba and Akamaru started tracking down the scent. They had a trail, Naruto, Shikamaru, Kiba, and Akamaru following it. It had lead to an old, abandoned hideout. Going inside, they found an empty room with a significant stain on the floor. "Blood!" Naruto said dipping his finger in small pool of blood.

"Hey, Akamaru has picked up another trail," Kiba said then starting to follow it, with Naruto and Shikamaru behind him. The second trail, which had lead to a river, on a deck leading to the river, a blood trail, was on it. The trail seemed to end at the end of the deck.

"Boruto! Boruto," Naruto's voice sounded distressed, like he was about to cry, "We're too late, bastards have killed him."
