That was it, Naruto no longer showed any emotion. It was like everything had suddenly stopped in Konaha.

"It shouldn't have been him, he never did anything to deserve this," Hinata said after hearing the news, tears starting to ran down her face.

"Hinata..." Naruto replied.

"You said you'd bring him back alive," Hinata then left, heading back home, in a fit of anger and sadness.

A search team had gone out to see if there was any sign Boruto was still alive, they only had found one of his shoes in the water. Shikamaru looked through the hideout, finding nothing to important to finding Boruto. He then got an idea, then taking a sample of the half dried blood.

Shikamaru walked into Naruto's office, Naruto had his face down on the desk like he was trying to sleep but couldn't. "Naruto."

"What is it," Naruto replied, sounding groggy.

"I think Boruto may be alive."

Naruto slightly laughed," Don't, don't give me false hope. "

"Naruto, I'm not taking this lightly."

Naruto lifted his head, hopefully, "What do you mean."

"I took some of the blood and had it tested. It turned out to be pork blood, they used it to fake us out so we'd stop looking. Then they lead the blood trail to make us think they dumped his body in the water."

"What about Akamaru following the scent to the end of the deck and no where else?"

"Probably took him on a boat thinking we'd bring ninja hounds out to sniff it out. Boruto's alive, they just hide him somewhere else."

So many thoughts went through Naruto's head," While, what are you waiting for, go look for where they're hiding him."

Shikamaru nodded a yes and went out to go start telling the search party to start looking for the new hideout.
