-Aleks POV-

The parking lot of the office building is fairly vacant which is odd because there's usually the other people in the building plus all of us. Yet there were only a few cars. Strange.

We vacate my car and head inside. James opens the door for me, which is different than what he normally does. I let it slide and decide not to question it. Up the stairs to our office door. I heard someone laughing, it sounded a bit like Spencer.

"What the fuck? The door won't open. SPENCER!! JOE!! HORDAN!! SOMEONE COME OPEN THIS GODDAMN DOOR!!!" James started yelling. Over a door. Not being opened. Sometimes I wonder why I'm friends with this idiot.

Someone opened the door. We were greeted by a red faced, blue haired man. He had a smile on his face, making his eyes crinkle. He moved to the side, allowing James and I to enter the office. A mess of what looked like hand cream or lube was all over the entrance room.

"What the hell? What's going on here??" I started asking questions. Spencer and Aron just pointed to the bullpen. Oh god. All of a sudden, here comes Dan with a baby head, a table leg, and his hands are covered in whatever was all around the room.

James just grabbed me and rushed me into the bullpen, leaving Dan, Spencer and Aron in there with all that. Seems like my friend didn't want me to get involved with that. The rest of the day goes pretty normal, or as normal as you can get with us.

Once again lunch time rolled around. James got up and asked if anyone wanted anything. They all passed on the offer, except for me. I got up and followed him out to my car. We shared a smile and off we went.

"Where do you want to go today? I chose yesterday, so it's only fair you choose where to eat today." I thought for a second and decided on going to Subway. I had been wanting a sub recently.

"How 'bout Subway? Sound good to you James?" I gave a half-hearted smile while backing out.

"Yeah, that's fine babe." I bit my cheek to stop from blushing at James calling me babe. I know we were pretending to be dating but I'm not used to it. Yet.

I looked over to the passenger side at my buddy. His curious brown eyes staring out the window at the landscape surrounding us. The radio playing silently in the background. A slight breeze coming through the air vents. This moment was perfect.

Sadly it was cut short.

James turned to say something but his expression quickly went from plain to frightened. "Aleks, watch out!!!"

I turned my head to look out my window and saw an eighteen-wheeler coming for us. And it wasn't stopping. I slammed my foot on the brakes, when I meant to hit the gas pedal.

I saw my co-worker close his eyes and cover his face. I just stared at him, hoping the car will stop in time. Horns were heard from the truck, but they sounded miles away. The car still slowing down, but not fast enough. I heard the familiar crunching sound of shattering glass.

I was hit with a white air bag from my left side and from the steering wheel. James' front air bag deployed as well. This was it. The end of our story.
