The next morning, Narcissa saddled her black unicorn, Valiant, and mounted him. "Where are you going?" A voice asked.
Narcissa gasped and turned to see her husband standing a few feet from her. "I'm going to see our daughter," she replied, pulling the hood of her blue cloak up; she adjusted the reins in her hand as she prepared to gallop off.
Before she had the chance, though, Malicus stepped in front of the unicorn. "Why?" He asked quietly, as if he was trying to tread carefully.
Valiant's ears went back a bit as he snorted and stomped his hoof agitatedly. Narcissa leaned forward and shushed him gently and stroked his velvet-like neck. "Because I want to see her," she said defensively. She sighed as Valiant nudged her with his nose. Smiling softly, she looked back at her husband. "I'm not just going to take her, though; I'm not cruel."
"How do you even know for certain that she is ours?" Malicus asked softly, taking a step forward and placing his hand on top of hers. Valiant's ears went back a bit more, but Narcissa scratched his neck, and he calmed down slightly- although he was still wary of the King.
"She has the memory," Narcissa answered, trying to figure out a way to explain it to her husband. "It's faint because she's developed more memories, but the one of her birth is still there; it's a memory we share."
Malicus sighed and grabbed a saddle and bridle from a nearby tack room, taking it to the stall across from Valiant's. "You're not going anywhere-" he began, before his wife cut him off.
"You plan on stopping me?"
"Not without me," he finished ignoring his wife's question as he finished tacking up his equine. "And the only way I plan on stopping you is if you try to stop me from coming with you."
"Then don't get in my way," Narcissa said darkly, kicking Valiant into a gallop.

"How do you know where we're going?" Malicus called after a few hours of silent riding.
Narcissa had been lost in her mind since they had begun their journey, thinking about all the time that she had missed with her child, and all the time she wanted to spend with Leila from that moment forward. She was brought out of them suddenly by Malicus's voice. She looked to the side to see Malicus keeping up with her on his white unicorn. "Dracona told me she spoke with Mary for awhile at the party. She mentioned she was from just beyond the Sylvan village on the outskirts of the kingdom by our Southern Border."
They rode in silence for a few more minutes, Narcissa watched her husband carefully for his reactions, refraining from using her telepathy to see what was going on in the King's mind. When he finally spoke, she felt her heart sink. "If this child is truly ours," he began tentatively. "How do you plan on getting her back?"
Narcissa sighed, and pulled Valiant to a sudden halt. Malicus did the same, as the stallion snorted irritably by the sudden harshness. Putting both reigns into one hand, Narcissa stroked Valiant's neck apologetically for a brief moment before glaring at her husband. "Do you honestly think I'm just going to waltz into their home and demand her back? I might be an ice wielder, Malicus, but I'm not a cold hearted Snow Queen. If anything I just want to be able to see her until she's old enough to begin training to become Queen."
Malicus shivered slightly, and Narcissa realized that she had let her temper run away with her as frost started to form on the reigns. Taking a deep breath, she calmed herself down and started fiddling with Valiant's mane. "'Cissa," he said softly, nudging his unicorn to walk over to his love. He took her hand into his, and made her look up at his brown eyes. "I'm not saying that- I know you wouldn't just snatch the child; I'm just trying to understand why not just take her back to the palace?"
