We decided at the last minute to have a quick bite of breakfast together before we started the day. We had to do it at Wool of course, because where else would we eat?
Harry couldn't make it because he had work for the whole day. He works at the reception desk of a doctors office in the city. He's got into a really good university, and he's going to study to be a brain surgeon, which is what he's wanted to do since he was seven. He worked at the doctors because it was really the only thing he could get in the medical field and he wanted experience in the industry. It didn't pay very well though, and he also had to have second job; although he could never find anything he liked so this second job changed almost monthly. I think he was currently working in a pet store.
Since Harry was busy at work, it would just have to be Madeline, Chloe and Hunter, and myself. We arrived at the cafe almost exactly at the same time, and walked in together.
"Fancy seeing you lot here!" Phil greeted us as we walked in.
"We decided to grab some breakfast," Hunter explained. "Is our booth free?"
"Of course," Phil said leading us towards the booth at the back of the cafe. "Unless it's packed, we don't sit anyone else there," he said with a grin.
"We obviously come here way too much," I said with a laugh.
"You're obsessed with us," Phil smirked as we sat down. "Do you all know what you're ordering, or should I come back in a few minutes?"
"I think we're good to order now, right?" Madeline asked, looking around, and we all nodded. "Okay. Well, I'll have the blueberry acai bowl please, Phillip," Madeline said, using his full name to annoy him. She so liked him. I made a mental note to ask her about it again later.
"We'll both have the smoked salmon bagel please," Hunter ordered for both himself and Chloe.
"And you, Kate?" Phil asked.
"I'll just have a fruit salad, thanks," I said.
"Really?" He asked, knowing that I'd usually go for pancakes with ice cream or french toast or something like that. Fruit salad was usually a Madeline food.
"Yeah, I'm not too hungry today," I said with a shrug.
Chloe felt my forehead. "Do you have a fever? Are you sick?"
"I'm fine. I'm just not that hungry, i said, shrugging.
The food came quickly, and my fruit salad was actually really good. I was just eating the last segment of orange when this adorable cocker spaniel walked past the cafe. "Doggy doggy doggy," I repeated whilst poking Madeline in the arm so she wouldn't miss the dog.
"Doggy," she gasped. "That's so cute I want to cry."
Chloe and Hunter looked up at the dog as well, and gave each other a knowing grin before turning to me and continuously barking at me. I inwardly sighed, cursing myself for forgetting about this.
Madeline looked away from the window where the dog had now passed, and gave us all 'you are the biggest weirdos ever please explain' looks.
"Kate made out with a dog," Hunter said gleefully.
I glared at him. "That was one time!" I exclaimed. "And it was by total accident," I added, turning to Madeline.
I could tell she was trying not to laugh at me, but she was desperately failing at it. "You... What!?"
"I dated this guy in year eleven who had five dogs," I started to explain, "and one time I accidentally made out with one of the dogs instead of him. I had my eyes closed and he was literally right in front of my face, but he must of moved and one of the dogs jumped in. I don't know," I sighed.
