Snowfall

Chapter 2

Nyx' POV

As soon as we heard Icy, screaming at the top of her lungs. Celine and Amethyst immediately got out of the table to do their businesses. I was dozing off in my thoughts while looking at the long marbled table in front of me. As I heard a slam.

"Hey miss-slowly-dozing-off, mind doing your business already? I told you it's getting late already, go get your twin sister and let's go! NOW!" Icy ordered.

"O-oh, I'm sorry. Just give me a minute." I told her as I dashed off upstairs. I went to my room and arranged the things I'm about to use this morning, then I went to Amethyst's room.

As I passed her room and was about to touch the door knob, I saw the door slightly opened while creaking quietly. Before I could even come in, I could hear soft sobs, making my heart beat unstable. Is Amethyst crying?

I saw her standing, facing her back at me. I slowly crept up, approaching her. As soon as I got closer, I clearly heard her crying. I knew it.

"Amethyst, what happened?" I asked standing beside her, seriousness and worry, audible in my voice.

She quickly wiped the tears away from her face, roughly. Moving away from me. I grabbed her arm to stop her from moving.

"What's the matter? Why are you crying?" I asked her again, she just looked down and I heard her sobs, once more.

I pulled her closer to me and placed her head on my shoulder, snaking my arms around her back. 

"Nothing..." She said while wiping her tears harshly away from her face.

"It's not a nothing, I know you." I told her coldly.

"I-" 

"How many hours will you two waste? Are you seriously pissing me off?" Icy said in a cold yet pissed voice.

"I'm sorry if it took long, just give us one more minute." I told her then creeped a small smile. She rolled her eyes and went away.

I looked at Amethyst, now looking at her feet. I turned her around to face my direction. I looked intently in her eyes.

"You'll tell me everything? Alright?" I pat her shoulder.

"Fix your things now before Icy kills us." I told her before closing her room's door.

I came down just to see Icy glaring at me. It's obvious that she's mad, she doesn't want to get her activities late, alright. I smiled at her but she rolled her eyes at me.

"Amethyst?" She asked me.

"Doing her things, wait for another minute." I told her and laid down the couch.

We heard the door bell ring.

I stood up to see who's in front of our house at this time of the day. I opened the door, and to my surprise I saw my uncle Kevin and aunt Chelsea. They were wearing formal attires while smiling at me. The next thing I knew I was being choked by aunt Chelsea. Her hug is so tight.

I heard some noises from the kitchen before I heard a yell just behind me and aunt and uncle.

"What the- WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?" Icy yelled at uncle and aunt, wide eyed.

"Hey, young lady. Is that how you greet your favorite uncle?" Uncle Kevin boasted.

"Favorite your face, uncle. Just tell me what are you doing here." She responded, crossing her arms.

"We just missed you kids, where's Amethyst?" Aunt said after releasing me. 

"Next time, hug a little less tight, Aunt. You nearly choked me." I told her as I gasp for air.
