Normal POV
"So this is the dangerous canyon everyone was talking about huh?" Arthur said to himself. This place reeked of death just by the foul smell in the air mixed with dust. What we have here right now is Arthur, the soon-to-be King of Camelot, traveling far away from home to the hellish canyon travelers avoid to take.
Arthur had taken up Merlin's advice. She had told the boy to train in the forbidden canyon miles away from Camelot. The canyon is described to be inhabited with wild life, very dangerous wild life, that The challenge was to make it out of the Canyon alive.
"I wonder how I'm gonna get out of here..." Arthur was looking around the area examining all the weird plant life growing on the sides. He was too focused on his observation that he didn't notice two monsters came out from behind to attack him.
In the last second, Arthur managed to dodge their attack and was able to slice them in half. The sound of growling was heard from where he had come from. "I need to get out of here." And so he did.
Many hours have passed and the sun has started to set, Arthur was walking around aimlessly. Not knowing what to do nor where to go, he just followed his gut and went without second thoughts. He should have thought it through because he had stumbled upon a nest. Though it was empty, the area looks fresh..like it was finished being decorated.
He had to get out of their to avoid being killed. There was rustling behind the big rocks. It was unexpected that a wall of rocks formed around the nesting area. "Damn it! I'm caught." He heard growling. Arthur turned around to see different types of monsters gathered at the top of the walls. All of them jumped down ready for their meal.
"I guess this could be my training ground. Alright, come at me." He had that determined look on his face. Every slash was directed at their heads. Arthur found their weak spots in just seconds. His observation is impressive. His power and strength have increased, agility as well. He's using all of his senses to know which is which and where is where since it's now dark. The only thing lighting his way is the moon and stars shining above him.
Arthur sighed in relief. All the demons have been defeated.but there is this gut feeling telling him that it's not over yet. There were footsteps..really big footsteps coming his way. It's like a mini earthquake. Something was coming. The walls started crumbling down. A loud roar was heard. When the wall had fully been destroyed, a massive giant emerged. It smelt blood. The monster was drawn by the scent of the dead monsters Arthur had killed but, he also smelled Arthur's blood. This is what made him hungry.
"You want to eat me huh? Sorry but I'm training here and I need to get out of here alive. So can you please leave?" the monster didn't listen. Instead, he used his fist to squish Arthur. It's a good thing he dodged it.
"I see..you're that hungry huh? Well I guess I'll just have to defeat you now." Arthur made a move on it's head. His blade sliced through it's skull. Arthur thought it was all over but it wasn't. From behind the monsters back, sticky tentacles emerged from it's spinal cord, hooked unto Arthur's leg. He had dropped his blade. The tentacle positioned itself at the top, allowing the giant to open it's mouth, ready for it's meal.
Arthur thought he was a goner. Out of nowhere, a flash of purple light struck the giant. Whoever that person was also cut off the mutant on the monster's back bone. Arthur fell hard on the ground.
"Oi! Hello?! Thank you for saving me!" the mysterious figure was standing under a small cave covering it's body. All Arthur can see is glowing green eyes.
"Can you show yourself please?" The mystery person made it's way to the light. To Arthur's surprise, it was a woman.
This female had the most beautiful eyes in Arthur's opinion. Her blonde wavy hair flowing by the wind and not to mention that curvacious body. Arthur was stunned at this female's beauty.
"Are you okay? You're not hurt right?" she came closer to him. her voice was filled with worry.
"ah..no...well, I have a cut though." Why was he getting nervous?
"Come with me, I'll treat your wound."
"That's okay..it's just a small cut..no need to do that." The girl didn't listen. She took hold of Arthur's hand and dragged him somewhere far away from the battle ground. her touch was gentle and comforting. To Arthur, it was slightly uncomfortable that a girl like her was this physically close to him, that made his cheeks turn a light shade of pink. Good thing it was night time.
*****
Later.....
When Arthur woke up, he noticed that the cut on his body was covered with bandage. Actually, his top part was covered with bandages. How did it happened? All he remembered was that the woman took him to her cabin and treated her wound. He didn't notice how sleepy he was after he fell back unto the bed.
It was morning. From outside the house's window, the exit was near. It's time to leave. Jumping out of bed and hurriedly getting changed, his stomach started growling. At the table, breakfast was prepared for him with a note on the side. It said:
'Enjoy your breakfast. I'll escort you to the exit. I'll be waiting outside.'
With that said, Arthur started eating. After that, he had packed his belongings and proceeded to go outside. And it was true. The woman was indeed waiting outside for him. she didn't say another word while she escorted him out. It was awkward silence. Arthur wanted to hear her voice again. But he didn't know what to say.
"we're almost there." Said the woman. As they neared the exit of the canyon, Arthur ran ahead to the short cliff. Yup, only a few more meters away and he'll be out in no time. Now remembered that he didn't ask for his hero's name yet. That was the perfect question.
"hey...I didn't quite catch your name..." He didn't turn to look at her. Embarrassed that she may see his nervous expression.
"Meldy.........Meldy Zelgo."
Meldy. Arthur tried out for himself..in his mind of course. "you're on your own here."
"yeah......uhh...thank you again----." That's when he noticed that she vanished to thin air. Meldy was no longer behind him. Arthur had regretted not looking at her face one more time. It was a total disappointed but it wasn't a total loss. He now knows her name.
Arthur had returned to Merlin's base. All throughout his journey back, all he kept thinking about is Meldy.
"Is something bothering you?" Merlin questioned.
"No..not at all." He answered. Arthur watched the sky pulling himself in deep thought. His mind has set on her..and her only. He was sure of it.
"One day..I'll meet you again....................My Meldy."
