Mum, meet the love of my life.

HARRY'S POINT OF VIEW:

As we pull into the drive, Katy looks down, biting her cheek. I grab her hands, covering them with mine. "Are you okay?" I ask her.

She looks down, shaking her head and I feel dread in the pit of my stomach, thinking that she's going to back out now, but when I see her face I can tell that she's just scared. My heart goes out to her. "I'm just afraid they won't like me," she says, playing with her hair.

I laugh. "How could they not love you? You're smart, funny, beautiful, sweet... Did I mention beautiful?" I say. She smiles and I know I've won, at least for now. "There it is," I say, taking her hand in mine as we walk to the door.

I step up and knock on the door. Katy steps back a bit and her smile falters the tiniest bit and that's when it hits me. She's genuinely afraid that my parents won't like her. "They'll love you." I whisper in her ear.

The fact that she's freaking out about it is adorable and I have to resist the urge to sweep her into a hug. As the door swings open, I give her hand a reassuring squeeze, then let go while my mum engulfs me in a hug. Katy looks shocked that my mum turns to her and gives her a hug as well.

My mum steps back and I can tell that she's impressed with Katy already. "Hi, I'm Harry's mum. You can call me Anne," she says, giving Katy one of her million-watt smiles. Katy smiles back, her nervousness easing a little.

My dad walks over then, clapping me on the shoulder and winking at Katy. I'm sure he feels my shoulder tense up and I can tell Katy's not quite sure how to respond to his wink either. "And you can call me Des."

Katy smiles, nodding.

My mum throws her hands up, "goodness me! Where are my manners? We were about to have tea, would you like to join us?"

Katy looks very excited and not quite sure, like this could be a joke. I nudge her forward a bit. "If it's not too much trouble, then yes, I would. " Katy says, always the polite one.

My mum makes her 'oh please' face and leads Katy into the living room, having her sit down. I ease myself down next to her, throwing my arm around her shoulders. She blushes (which is very adorable and quite easy to make happen). My mum's eyes widen and she grins. "Are you two... Together?" She asks. Katy opens her mouth to say something, but I beat her to it. "Yes," I say, knowing I'm going to get it later. My mum's grin widens "she's my everything mum," I say, causing Katy to blush, yet again, and look down at her hands.

"I'm just so happy to see that my son has found someone to make him happy," mum says, making Katy grin.

As she says that, I send my text to Katy, really hoping the answer will be a yes. [will you go out with me? I really like you. ;) <3]

She looks at me and I can see the hesitation in her eyes, the wariness and the fear, but something makes her change her mind. "Yes," she says and I think that this may be the happiest moment of my life.

NIALL'S POINT OF VIEW:

Grace is afraid. I've never seen Grace afraid of anything. Ever. Even as I'm thinking that, she looks more afraid. Every mile that passes as we get closer to me mums is painfully silent. "Grace, you okay?" I ask, taking me eyes eyes off the road for a second to look at her. She starts to nod, then shakes her head. "What's wrong?"

"It's just..." She trails off. "What if your parents don't like me?"

I sigh. We've had this conversation many times before and it hurts me heart to even think that she feels like she's not good enough. "Grace," I say, stopping the car on the side of the road, "you are perfect. I don't care if me folks tell me never to see you again, I'd have to anyways."

She relaxes just a little in her seat and I pull the car on to the road again. "Niall?" She asks, very quietly.

"Yes princess?" I say, then apologise for calling her a princess. She smiles, then frowns again.

"What if you find another girl? What if she's prettier? You don't HAVE to date me."

Me nostrils flare, because now she thinks she's just a charity case. Me throat tightens. "Grace," I say, me voice cracking just the slightest bit. "Why can't you just accept the fact that you're beautiful? No, you're not perfect but for all the difference that makes you might as well be."

She looks out the window, but I see a tear fall from the corner of her eye. I catch it and kiss her on the cheek, turning my attention back to the road.

We pull into me mums house at a quarter to twelve, lunch time. Thank goodness because I'm starving. I practically pry Grace put of the car and onto the steps. Just as I raise my hand to knock, mum opens the door and grabs me and Grace in a bug hug. Pulling back, she smiles. "You must be Grace."

Grace nods, smiling just the tiniest bit. "We'll I'm Niall's mum, you can call me Maura though."

Mum goes into the kitchen, telling Grace about her little cucumber and something sandwiches on the way, coming back out with a tray full of them. "Well don't just stand there, dig in!"

Grace and I dive into the food, finishing off the sandwiches in no time. "Well I can see why you picked her Niall. Pretty AND has a good appetite." I smile and squeeze Grace's hand. She smiles back.

I clear my throat. "Well, it was great t'be back mum, but I still have to show Grace Dad.

She waves her hand, "oh, he's not important, but if you must I'm just glad you came here first." She turns to Grace, taking her hands. "I'm so glad you're here to make my son happy." She says.

I grin and Grace and I make our goodbyes, then head off to Dad's house. "See? I told you she'd love you."

She punches me lightly in the arm, "we still have to meet your dad."

I scratch my head, "oh yeah..." She laughs and shakes her head. I love the sound of her laugh.

Fifteen minutes later, we pull into my dad's house, he's already sitting on the porch. No sooner do we get out of the car then Dad comes out with, "so your Niall's bird?"

"Dad..." But Grace stops me.

"I know my lingo, I got this." She says with an annoyed look that is quite adorable really. "Yes, I'm Niall's bird," she says, wearing a self-satisfied smirk.

I don't want to stay any longer than is necessary, so I say goodbye to my dad and we get into the car again. "What would you do without me?" Grace says, laughing.

I swear that for a moment, me heart stops beating in me chest. " I don't ever want to figure that out. I love you Grace. Don't leave. " I say, and she stops, looking dead at me.

"Never."
