I woke up the next morning and Mikey wasn't in the bed with me. His side of the bed felt cold and I got up quickly to find him. I stepped out onto the floor and knocked on the bathroom door once and didn't get a reply. I made my way out of our room and walked into the kitchen. There were papers upon papers stacked onto the table with Mikey sitting with his head on the table. I grabbed two bowls from the cabinets and filled them up to the top with cereal. I brought the milk over to the table and noticed that Mikey was watching me. I smiled lightly and Mikey just looked stressed. I slid his bowl over to him and he poured his milk. I grabbed the carton from him and finished the jug off in my bowl. I felt bad for finishing it, but Mikey didn't seem to mind. I got up for a little bit and checked the cabinet, pantry, and fridge. We barely had any food left and it was just boxes of cereal without any milk left to eat them with. I sighed and Mikey just looked up with the same stressed feeling plastered on his face.

"I got paid today. I've already paid for the rent. We could go food shopping if you'd like. I know that I don't have much, but I think that we could pull it off." Mikey looked at me hopefully and I just nodded and let out a small smile. We ate the rest of our breakfast in silence while I thought about getting a job. I really needed one. I wanted to help Mikey out even if it was just a little bit.

"I want to get a job." I finished my last bite off food while Mikey just raised an amused eyebrow, "I feel like I should start making money. It would help us out so much." Mikey nodded in agreement and he seemed almost happy until I spoke again, "Oh and my friends want to meet you. I'm actually planning on meeting up with them today and bringing them here to hang out or we could meet up at the park."

Mikey paled at my offer and he didn't look so sure, "After food shopping I'll just stay home, okay? I really don't think meeting them is a good idea. What if they don't like me?" Mikey was really worried and his hands were shaking.

"I know that they will like you. Oh my God, they will love you. Come on, it'll be great. You aren't bad or anything, plus they're really curious and Ray has an afro!" I offered the last bit of information just for laughs and it worked. Mikey was laughing and just shaking his head. He agreed to meet them but I could tell that he was still nervous. Hell, I'd be nervous if I had to meet Mikey's friends.

Mikey put our bowls in the sick and grabbed my hand. He pushed me into his closet and started kissing me heavily. I leaned into his arms and backed him into the clothes. We were giggling like crazy until the whole rack fell down. We both lost our balance and I fell on top of Mikey. We were covered in clothes and I was crying from laughing so hard. I looked over at Mikey and saw him crying as well. We were so clumsy sometimes. I helped myself stand before offering my hand out to Mikey. He took my hand while we looked at the giant mess we had made. I was blushing like crazy while Mikey just kissed my forehead and promised to fix it later. We picked out a pair of clothing that we would wear for the day. We changed in separate rooms and I couldn't help but looking at myself in the bathroom mirror. I couldn't see the beauty that Mikey had been telling me about last night, but I was trying hard to look for it. I sighed and just rolled my eyes at myself. I pulled off my shirt and looked at my back in the mirror. It was starting to heal and it didn't hurt as much anymore. I felt like crying when I thought of showing Mikey. I didn't want Mikey to see my ugly scars on my back. I didn't want anyone to see them.

I slid the shirt carefully over my head before taking my pants off and changing those, too. I stepped out from the bathroom and I looked for Mikey. I exited the room and saw him digging around under the couch. I just sat there with my eyebrows raised and cleared my throat. He turned around immediately and his face turned a deep red. I had no idea what he was looking for, but he seemed pretty guilty.

"I was just, um, looking for something. Meet me out in the car, okay babe?" My heart squeezed at his nickname for me before I just nodded and grabbed his car keys to unlock the door. I kept the car running for him when I remembered that I had left my phone on the charger. I raced back up the stairs and Mikey was still digging around the couch. He smiled at me for a little bit before he went back to searching. I unplugged my phone from the wall and saw all of the messages I had. I groaned and walked back into the car and started replying to ones from Ray and Bob. I told them that they would meet Mikey in about three to four hours. I set the phone into my pocket and watched as Mikey exited the apartment, locked it, and rushed over to me.

"Hey, how much do you think we'll spend on food?" Mikey was getting situated in the car and putting it into reverse to back out of the parking spot.

"How long do we have until we go shopping again?" I looked suspiciously at Mikey, "Oh, in three to four hours you're meeting my friends."

"I'd say about a month until we go again. I'm kind of excited to meet your friends. I've never really had any so this'll be different." Mikey shrugged before getting onto the road and driving just down the street.

"About one hundred dollars, if we are lucky. You never had any friends?" My eyes widened and Mikey reddened under my stare.

"I never had any friends. Gerard was my only friend as a child. You're my only friend now." Mikey shrugged but I felt confused. Who was Gerard?

"Who is Gerard?"

"My brother," Mikey smiled, "his name is Gerard. I can't believe I never told you. That's odd."

I leaned back in my seat, "You're such a cute little weirdo." I blushed the minute the words were out of my mouth while Mikey jus laughed. I rolled my eyes at him and turned the music up and looked out of my window until Mikey pulled into the store and we climbed awkwardly out of the car. This would be the first time that we were surrounded by people together. The park didn't count because no one really goes in there. Mikey held my hand and we walked into the grocery store together.

I let Mikey take cart duty while I picked out all of the things that we liked. I would see Mikey eyeing something he wanted and I would just pluck it off of the shelf and stick it in the cart. There were a few times that we were in the aisles alone and we would sneak kisses to one another. We laughing a lot and doing things to one another when others people's backs were turned. For instance I had snuck up behind Mikey in the frozen food section and slapped his butt really loudly while he let out a high-pitched girly yelp that caused everyone to stare at us. Mikey's face had turned so red and I don't think we've ever left an aisle so quickly. I had been dying until Mikey warned that there would be revenge.

Mikey and I split up somewhere between the vegetables and the cereal aisle. I was constantly checking over my shoulders and trying to be as sneaky as possible. I grabbed several boxes of cereal and tried to find Mikey. I kept peaking into each aisle before I started pouting. Where was he? Finally, I just gave up and gravitated towards other aisles that I wouldn't buy from. I finally gave up and sat down on a stool that had been set out from the workers. I kept my head down and watched each person that came in and out of the aisles. There was no sign of Mikey. I heaved myself back onto my feet and decided to look near the bathrooms, registers, electronic center, and then the music center. I walked quickly towards the bathroom and checked every stall. There was no sign of Mikey. I left the bathroom and felt genuinely worried. I walked past each register twice and I didn't see Mikey. I was starting to panic and I remembered that Mikey had somewhat of an anxiety problem. If I was freaking out then he must be going overboard. I willed my feet to move faster as I reached the electronics. I turned the corner and saw someone with brown hair and black pants turn the corner. I rushed after them. I reached the end and no one was behind me. I grew frustrated and I was about to give up when someone grabbed my butt from behind. I let out a frightened scream and turned around to face Mikey smiling and laughing. I dumped the cereal into the cart and tackled him. He caught me just in time and balanced us so we wouldn't fall on the floor.

I pulled back and rolled my eyes at him. I stuck my tongue out before I kicked him away from the cart and started pushing it. My hands were still shaking. He had definitely scared me. I looked over at Mikey and held one of my hands out. Mikey intertwined his hand with mine. We both headed towards the music together and checked out the latest CD's. I found out that Mikey and I liked the exact same music. I just looked at my boyfriend and I felt so lucky. I just couldn't imagine this any other way. I pressed my lips onto his and he responded eagerly. We kept our hands together and just pressed our lips together until we heard someone clearing their throat from behind us. Mikey and I pulled back to meet the eyes of a guy I hadn't seen before.
