(Picture above/to the side is Lauren)

Daniel's POV

I felt bad about the whole "driving off and leaving Lauren in the pouring rain" situation, but she did kind of deserve it I guess. I mean, I offered to help her the other day and she completely threw it away. I know I should be ignoring her and pretending like I don't care anymore... like I don't still love her.

But I can't.

I can't forget about the way her strawberry blonde, wavy hair falls just so over her shoulders, that when it catches the sunlight, glistens a subtle gold; or the way her sea blue eyes seem to brighten when she is happy or darken when upset. They way her soft, dark pink lips pout just a bit more than average and how the right side of her upper lip is a fraction higher than the left side...

See? Does this seem like I'm over her? I sound like a fucking girl! But it's useless thinking like that. I threw it all away last year... she was trying to tell me something important but I told her that it would have to wait because I was going out with my friends. I knew she was upset, but for some reason, that fact just didn't seem to register with my thoughts.

I can tell now that she hates my stinking guts, the way she looks at me with pure anger and hatred but also with a hint of loss, regret and betrayal. I found her looking at me the other day with a ghost of a smile, almost as if showing some passionate feelings for me deep down, but as quickly as it came, it went and twisted into a scowl. I guess I deserved it...

Lauren's POV

Finally getting to school (looking like a drowned rat), I trudged in through the gates as the warning bell went for class to begin. As I arrived at my locker, Annabelle waked past and then suddenly halted, stared at me and looked confused for what seemed like an eternity.

"What the hell happened to you?!" Clearly trying to hold in fits of hysterical laughter, Annabelle's shoulders were shaking uncontrollably, finally, no longer able to hold it in, she let out a very strange sounding giggle.

"It's called rain." I deadpanned. "I had to walk in that weather out there."

It better stop before I have to go home. Have you ever realised how much rain can effect your mood? For me, my mood just went from crappy to crappier.

Annabelle looked at me with a somewhat pitiful expression and wrapped an arm around my shoulder saying words that I guess were meant to be comforting to me, but they only seemed patronising.

As we walked to class I noticed my timetable was also crappy (I think crappy is the word of the day... yay or nay?). I have history first which I haven't had yet this year so there will be a new seating arrangement - oh the joys.

I settled down in my seat, fairly happy with where I was sitting. I had two rather quiet people next to me so that shouldn't cause any trouble at all. Daniel's in this class, but he's right at the back with his friends... don't know why on earth the teachers put them back there, not that I'm complaining or anything.

"Good morning class, in case some of you don't know, I am Mr Miller. As you can see, I have put you all in your seating arrangements-" he suddenly stopped talking and scoured the back of the room as if looking for something. "Ah. Daniel and Jake clearly can't quite understand the meaning of a seating arrangement." Sniggers echo around the room. Glancing back, I can see Daniel doing one of his typical eye rolls, clearly pissed off. "Basically," Mr Miller continues, his voice dripping with sarcasm, "you have to sit where your names are on the desk, Daniel you sit here, to the right of Lauren, and Jake, to the left of her."

Ughhhh, I can't believe it! The stupid teacher had to make the stupid seating arrangement just so that Daniel is sitting next to me, with his moronic idiot of a friend on my other side.

Clearly Daniel doesn't look too happy about this either as he mumbles a colourful rainbow of words to himself as he grabs his stuff and trudges over to where I'm sitting, Jake doing the same, but without so much of an attitude. They both slump down in the seats next to me, staring straight ahead, ignoring me.

You know when you look at the clock and, say it says 9.15. You look back at it after what you assume was half an hour, but nope, 3 minutes have passed. THREE. Well that's my situation right now. Glancing to the side out of boredom I am suddenly faced with another face a couple of inches away from mine just staring at me.

"Umm... what the hell are you doing Daniel?"

"...Oh, um... I need the toilet." And with that he rushes off without another word.

Daniel's POV

"What the fuck did I just do?! Staring at her like a fucking moron! Get control of yourself."

An awkward cough sounded from one of the cubicles and the door slowly slid open and a small kid a couple years below me stepped out, eyeing me as if I were crazy.

"What are you looking at?!" Everyone talks to themselves once in a while... I said that in my head of course. With that the kid left, confused, and probably slightly scared of me.

You need to get your shit together, Daniel.

I walk back to the class and take my seat next to Lauren with a new school year resolution to forget my feelings towards her. I can't carry on like this, I'll lose my reputation! I know, I know. I'm a dick, sorry about that. Lauren isn't even that great anymore, she used to be an attention whore and now she is just a nobody. In fact, I even saw her hanging around with that Annabelle girl... What's with that?! Having said that... I should probably just clear things up with Lauren...

:-:-: This chapter's kind of short, sorry. Also, yes, there is swearing in this and there will be in the future, I'm not trying to offend anyone, I guess you could just say... it's an emotive language technique... ;) Please leave a comment telling me what you think and don't forget to vote! :-:-:
