Prologue: Introductions

It was in the middle of December when a young human traveler made his way back into the town of Shorenbrug, Sweden. He was a big short, chubby, and wearing a heavy winter set of clothing over a summer-like thin layer, the young boy, aged 15, fought it was a good idea to cut threw the forest to get back home faster than dealing with the ice-covered streets. The low shine of the moon reflects across the iced river and the white snow as Michael slowly makes his way due East back toward civilization and his house, and the brisk, cold wind forces the child to tightly wrap his thick clothing around his body to maintain body heat for as long as he could. Hours have passed of the child just walking through the snow-covered forest, and one might consider him lost, as he somehow managed to walk in a complete circle believing he heading East the whole time. The child looked around to find anywhere to rest, since the moon is already shining in it's glory overhead and the cold wind has numbed, and found a wooden hut with a black trail of smoke. He was smiling with glee, as he somewhere warm to sleep, and ran as fast as he could through thick layer of snow to the cabin. He didn't think that someone was inside as he quickly opened the oak door and tripped inside, landing with a loud thud on the oak wood floor. The child, with no care about anything else, slammed the door shut and locked it to keep the bitter cold out of the rather warm house. He then flopped down against the leather couch and sighed happily, removing the heavy garments to keep from overheating but keeping on the lighter garments so he wouldn't freeze.

This is pretty relaxing, the child thought to himself as he lied across the couch, with a smile on his face and not a single care in the world as he slowly drifts into a deep sleep. But, before he could enter that blissful dream realm, he hear a voice calling out, "Ay, kid! What you think your doing?"

The kid shot up, and in a panicked voice, he said, "I-I'm sorry s-sir...I d-didn't how anyone else lived here."

The male figure just chuckled and shook his head, and told the boy, "Don't worry. I'm not going to hurt you. I mean, at worst...you just made a lot of noise and woke me up. You're lucky my husband's a heavy sleeper."

The child nodded softly, and questioned the strange shape of the figure. And now he had the chance to look around the cabin, the building seem rather tall for a standard cabin. He asked the figure, "Sir...why is everything here so...huge?"

The figure chuckled again, and said with a smirk, "Well, I'm a big fellow, kiddo. Don't take that the wrong way though...I'm tall because of my Curse," the figure steps from the shadows, the soft light from the fireplace revealing a tall, muscular male anthropomorphic wolf wearing a plain white t-shirt and a pair of black short. The child froze in fear of the tall male, before the wolf chuckled for the 3 time, and said with a soothing tone, "I'm not going to hurt you. My husband doesn't like it when I kill in the house, so I try instead to treat everyone I meet with kindness until I have a reason to throw them out. And, kid, you seem innocent enough."

The wolf then sat on the couch and looked at the boy, his gray fur slightly reflecting the light from the fire in the fireplace, and asked, "Now, why are you here, boy?"

The child gulped, despite his nerves calming down slowly, and stuttered, "U-uh, I-I've gotten lost on my way home and I needed a place to stay. And your c-cabin was the closest shelter from the snow."

The wolf chuckled and told the boy, "Well, you're welcome to stay. I got food and drinks if you need anything."

The child nodded and said, "Thanks, I could use something to eat and drink..."

The wolf got up from the couch and walked to the kitchen area of the main part of the cabin. He opened a cooler and pulled out a bottle of water and a sandwich. He then walked back to the child and gave him the refreshments. The child nodded in thanks and took the items, only to quickly devour the sandwich and downed the water like it's nothing.

"Whoa...you were really hungry and thirsty," the wolf exclaimed with surprise.

"Yea," the child said with a sigh of relief, "I was walking for hours, kinda makes anyone go crazy for any form of food and drink."

The wolf laughed softly and nodded his head in agreement to the child. Then, the wolf asked, "Say...aren't you from that village that praises wolves as some...deity?"

The child looked at him in surprise as he utter out, "H-how...did you kn-know, sir?"

The wolf give a soft sigh and waves his hand (or paw?) around, exclaiming, "You kids always knock on my door to take pictures, give offerings, or, in rare cases, a sacrifice...which is just a slain deer, since they know I love vision. I honestly wish they stop and let me and my husband live here in peace so I don't have to bother with children fangirling over me."

The child laughed and said, "Wow, my friends really do that?"

The wolf nodded, "They indeed do," he said.

The child shook his head, "Dang, I'm glad I'm not like that," he exclaimed, "I'm just curious about you, mister. Why are you like you are now?"

The wolf chuckled, "Well, kid, I can't just simply explain that...but I got an idea on how to answer that question."

"What is it?" The child asked with a curious look on his face.

"How about I tell you a story...one about my life?" the wolf asked with a grin, "Although I gotta warn you, child, it's full of nasty stuff."

"Bring it on then," the kid challenged, "I'm not scared."

"Your funeral..." the wolf said with a chuckle, "Oh, by the way, name's Wolfsu."

"Isaac," the kid repiled.

"...well, Isaac, let us go back into the past..."
