The paperwork came in a boring looking envelope. I almost threw it out. I didn't care; I didn't care about anything. But I noticed to whom it was addressed.
"Ms. Sage Samuelson Holmes."
That caught my attention.
"Dear Miss Holmes,
We are pleased to inform you your request for a deed poll has been reviewed and accepted. Your legal name has now been changed.
You can send a copy of the attached form to any corporations or establishments that need alerting as to this change." I skimmed the rest. I had done it. The legacy would live on: a Holmes would reside in 221b. I would ensure it.
