A year ago if anyone asked me "What is the meaning of love?"
I would have said i did not know.Love is kind, Love is patient, Love is sweet and I fell in love with Spencer who was kind, patient and sweet.
As i grew up i feared falling for anyone i did not want to end up in abusive relationship like my parents. I feared getting married and having children.
Spencer changed me completely he changed my life. He helped me to heal, to love to turn back to God.
************
5 years later
"Honey"
"Yes" i said and i turned around to see Spencer at the kitchen doorway.
"Where we going?" I asked
"Youth"
"Oh, but----
Spencer and me became youth leaders for 4 years and i loved every single friday. There was was so many young people who needed help, who just needed someone to talk to. I saw so many precious lives transformed. Some of them who were on drugs and doing worldly pleasure would come be changed and restored.
What was so sad was that most these young people started doing all this because of a paren who was either abusive or alcoholic.
"Can't i take my girlfriend out to dinner afterwards?"
I smiled, we didn't usually eat on fridays because we'd eat at youth. The Church had started providing meals for these young people.
"Okay my love" i said drinking some water.
"Ready"
"Yep"
We went to youth and there was something different. The twins Leo and Leona who was now 18 hugged me.
"Ms Zo", a girl said from behind me when i walked toward the church hall.
"Stacey" i gave her a hug.
Stacy was the Pastors younger daughter. We bacame close friends when i became a youth leader.
" Come help with the hotdogs, Mom bought quiet a few" She said with a smile.
"Sure, let me just-------
"I'll give the band the set list don't worry" Spencer said.
"Ok"
"Meet you in the hall" he said and kissed my temple.
"Ok" i said and walked to the kitchen with Stacy.
"How are you Stace?"
"Good, thanks just tired, hectic day at work." she said with a sigh.
"On the bright side, guess who called today?"
"Who?"
"Karen, she said shes coming down soon" I said
"Its been a while since i spoke to her, can you believe little Aria will be two in a few months" she said.
"Wow time has flown i still remember her wedding day like it was yesterday" I said
Karen and I never drifted apart even though she moved to England. She visited twice a year and she always saw me and Spencer when she came. When she fell pregnant with Aria, her first child, she told me first. She became like a sister. She and Stacy.
"Done, any more?" I said to Stacy.
"Nope, Im done too, lets go its already 7"
We walked toward the hall and it looked dark, usually we'd leave the outside light on.
We walked toward the door and it looked dark.
"Stace" I said. I looked around the yard she wasn't there.
"Im by the door Zo"
"Why is it so dark? "
"Are we having youth inside church?"
She didn"t answer, just then a dim light came on and then i noticed there were candles and everyone.
"Zoe!"
I looked up the stage and saw Spencer.
Down on his knee"Will you marry me?"
