I knew she was out of the building and was probably watching around for her options of running away. She was good at that. I just hoped deeply Montgomery wasn’t still there. I could take anything but see her go with him.
I don’t know what was going wrong with me.
It wasn’t me to care about things like this but I just felt it in my heart to start caring about her.
Fishing out my phone I called George because I knew by the time I’d get down, she’d be gone. Maybe with Montgomery.
Was I being possessive?
Maybe.
“George, follow her and don’t let her out of your sight!” I instructed quickly as soon as my call was attended and then I dialed the Building Maintenance to see what was keeping the elevator down.
Relaxed about things taken care of, I dialed Arianna. Oh yeah, we exchanged our numbers. Finally.
As expected she didn’t attend it.
*Arianna Lancaster*
“Stop following me George.” I said irritably to George who had started walking behind me just as I stepped out of the building.
“Orders Miss Arianna.” He said monotonously. I should’ve known. Chase would do anything to keep me in his sight.
I turned around, almost bumping into him. “Do yourself a favor George and let go. I don’t think you can run as fast as I can.”
His down casted eyes shot up at me. He wasn’t very old but not even too young to really catch me –I was a fast runner, but then his lip curled into a short smile and his eyes danced a bit playfully.
That’s when I realized I was wearing just one sandal. I had stuck the other in between the elevator door to jam it. “Uh, I can still get away you know.” I mumbled and walked around, limping a bit.
My phone buzzed; Chase was calling. For a second I wanted to attend his call and tell him to tell George to back off but I also didn’t want to talk to him.
I don’t know why I was mad at him. Now that I thought about it, I wasn’t mad at all. Yeah he‘s pretentious but then again that’s who he is. Yeah he shouted at me but then I was shouting back. Yeah he ruined my favorite cake but then I wasn’t doing any good to it too…
I should go back…
The phone buzzed again.
No. I can’t go back now. It’ll just look weird. Right?
“George.” I called and he quickly came at my side. “Do you have a few bucks?”
He was taken aback but quickly recovered, reaching inside his pocket. “Yes, yes Miss…. here.” He handed me a few bills, watching me with slight curiosity.
It’s play time.
“Thanks, Chase will pay you back. Now,” I started, quickly calculating my time. A taxi was just rounding the corner and I have to get that, without giving George time to argue or hold me back. “You know who I am, right?” he nodded. The taxi was just a few feet away. “Don’t following me. That’s an order!”
Hurriedly I stepped away from him and called out for the taxi. It stopped right in front of me. Before George could even move in his place I had dumped myself in. “Go! Go!”
