Maci's POV
As I sat in the office waiting for the principal to talk to me over what I did, I saw Zack walking into the nurse's office with a rag on his face from a bloody nose. All that could go through my mind is 'shit. I'm screwed'. The principal came out of his office and motioned me inside.
"Ms. Bradley, I can't believe you, of all people, would do something like this!"
"Not my fault he's a cheating scumbag."
"That is besides the point. I'm suspending me for the rest of the year."
"Don't threaten me with a good time." And I walked out of the office smirking.
'Punish me by giving me an early retirement. Sweet!'
Zack looks at me.
"Maci! I can explain."
"Shut the hell up. You cannot come up with an excuse as to why you called me ugly and said you didn't want me anyways. You didn't say that when we were in your car though. And you're probably only acting like this because I smashed your face in with a tray and ruined your over inflated ego. So bug off." I walked off and got into my car to head home. On my way home, I was wondering about how things could have been if I never spoke to Zack in detention. I probably would still be liked by my family. Hell, my family doesn't even talk to me anymore because I'm such a different person now compared to when I first met him. I went home and sat in my room. I texted my mom to tell her what happened to me at school.
'Mom.'
'What'
'We need to talk'
'What about?'
'It shouldn't matter what about. Just meet me at that one coffee place or wherever you wanna meet'
'K'
I met my mom at the coffee place down the road.
"Maci, what in the hell do you want now? Whatever it is, don't you think Zack can help you with it?" At this point I just lost it.
"Mom, I can't. He cheated on me and insulted me in school. I smashed his face in with a tray and I got suspended for the rest of the year. And you can't let your daughter vent to you! Of all people, my mom's gotta be the one who's bitchy and complaining about me going to her?!"
"Maci, that's not what I meant."
"You know what? Fuck you! No wonder why dad left you!" I stormed out of the coffee shop and went back to my apartment. Who the fuck could say that to their daughter?
